I Need Help With Christmas

Being a very technologically-oriented guy (like much of us here) I have a lot of gadgets that I love. Every Christmas, I've really looked towards a new one that would add to the repetoire. Problem is, though, I've pretty much run out of things to look for. I could go with the new, high end Pocket PCs, but I'm not really enthusiastic enough about their gaming capabilities to care. I could go with an MP3 player, but thats sort of a last resort. I don't care enough about music to need 20GB.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Something they use a lot that's full of usability? I'm lost...

What about one of theses look pretty nice..

Eh, I don't really care too much about video. I almost never watch TV, and if I do, its only for brief periods.

And I'm getting them to use, not just for the hell of it :)

So you`ve told us two things you don`t like, "music" and "videos", Is there much else ?. Anyway, What about telling us what you do like, To give us some idea`s. Failing that, If you have so much cash, Why not share it out between all us board members. :p

as ur obviously into handheld gaming u could either get a DS or a psp for christmas

I think Lik Sang are still taking pre-orders for psp and theirs loads on ebay(pre-orders). That way u get it b4 christmas, but have to put up with japanese games for a while.

im getting money for christas, then when i see something i want i can just get it.

I have a DS already (worked hard for that) and I don't really care for the PSP, especially right now.

In any case, unless there are any other suggestions, I think I'm gonna go with an MP3 player. Maybe I'll listen to music more often. What I don't want is an IPod, because I'm a mess and start to hate things when they get too popular (which is too bad, because it's actually a very cool little machine). Also, in comparison to other players, it doesn't have enough features for its abnormally high price. I find it ridiculous that its so popular...

Anyway, I was looking towards the IRiver H320. It's relatively new, has a "scene" of sorts, radio, all types of audio formats, recording from other sources, downloading from digital cameras, and even video playback with the Korean firmware (although it's not that great). Is this a good choice? It's such a beautiful little machine...

An mp3 player with a scene?

Hmmm - these people must have very little else to do...

i get sort of gadget for christmas this year, although it isnt THAT useful ^^...
its a blue plastic ball that lights when you push it and has a battery like a mobile phone...totally useless, but cooooooooool :D

I'll tell you what I got for christmas...

4 brand new tires from my car! Yes!

You sound like you don't need anything technical. I mean if you don't like music and you don't like video than you will be more than satisfied with the amount of music and video your gp32 can do. I can normally fit about 25 songs on my gp32 and this makes me happy as I walk to class.

Now hmmmmmmm if you want something technical I would get a SONY Aibo! At least it can read your email, and maybe even your mind. Oh wait not your mind. Why don't you ask for some DS games? I would get Feel the Magic: XY-XX or Ridge Racer DS (when it comes out).

You also said you don't like popular things... That's just silly... You have a DS don't you? You wouldn't want a DS if it wasn't popular because the more popular a system is the more games that will come out for it. If you wanted a handheld that was unpopular go get a Game.com or something. :p

£400?!?! Christ! Not likely mate.

I was going to get an Xbox and Halo 2 for xmas but then I figured that I didn't need another console when I already have a PS2 and GC. I just couldn't justify spending £100 to play a couple of games. So I went for the Lord of the Rings boxset and Paper Mario instead :)

You don't need gadgets to have a good time at xmas.

Well i'm trying to get more RAM for my computer. I mean you could upgrade your computer (unless you have a badass computer in which i'd have to find and take it) get a new graphics card or a new processor maybe a sound card (they help a lot especially if you like gaming, can fix lag issues and i have no clue why did for me. Probably because they can keep up with the video rate and not have to slow down the video to keep it in sink? dunno) or get a bigger hard drive, maybe get a 7.1 surround sound speaker set, gonna leave computers now. get a video camera or an olympus digital camera, a video game system you don't have yet...xbox...ps2...gamecube... and what you should get no matter what is a nice case of YOOHOO. :p
