I tried my luck with desoldering braid, but that wasn't efficient enough and I was concerned about frying something on the other side of the PCB.
Thanks for the tip with a desoldering pump. I will definitely buy one :-)
EvilDragon made me an early Christmas present .... aaaaaaaand here we go!
So far, the new nubs work very well and I am finally satisfied with those little troublemakers.
Changing them was not easy and I struggled a lot with removing the solder.
Luckily, there was an easier way to...
Have you tried your luck with superglue already?
I would be careful and try some other kind of glue. Superglue (cyanoacrylate) emits fumes that might settle on surrounding surfaces and render contacts non-conductive.
Hm, I just took a look at https://www.dragonbox.de/en and didn't see any nubs! Only defective Pandora PCBs, but it might be difficult to remove the nubs from one of those without destroying them :-(
Thanks for all the condolences :-D
A long time ago, I tried using the right nub as mouse replacement, and it was similarly bad/useless.
I will report if new nubs work better ... but this will take a while :-)
Thanks for the tip, I will order two new nubs ... the left nub actually doesn't do a much worse job now than it used to do when it still was "alive" ... sometime you have to break what is breaking you ;-)
Wow, re-living some good childhood memories :-)
Is it possible to stretch the game to full screen? I tried by modifying the uqm.cfg with "usegl = BOOLEAN:true", "reswidth = INT32:800" and added "keepaspectration = BOOLEAN:false", but nothing changed.
How can one re-calibrate with keyboard controls? All I know off is the "nub dance" and using the "reset nubs" option in the nub configuration (followed by a dance). Mine lose calibration frequently and after seconds to minutes :-(
And I'm still not sure if I will RMA my Pandora ... I made an...
Wow, this is working wonders on my screen! :-D
Thanks a lot!
You wouldn't by any chance have a magic cure for the nubs (going out of calibration after some minutes) as well?
That's all written in my first posting here in this thread. My workaround is to deactivate WiFi before I suspend, which seams to work well.
I have re-installed the OS and it is up to date.
Wizard, are you confusing low power mode with suspend to RAM?
Suspend is still not handled well on the Pandora, and probably never will. And there will probably never be an update of NetworkManager that might fix the suspend problem with WiFi either. I started disabling WiFi before I suspend my...
