Bounty for Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup 0.10

I've reinstalled my OS since the last version, so it took some effort to get my VM running again. I might have something later today, if we're lucky.

Bounty for Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup 0.10

Mission accomplished. My Pandora was apparently lost in the mail, so I won't be able to test it. I can, however, produce a binary sometime this weekend.

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

There's been a few newer versions released for this, but my Pandora's presumably lost somewhere between my house and ED's. (sent for purple haze fix) So I haven't been able to port these new versions, and won't be able to until it either shows up or I bite the bullet and get a new one. :( In...

    Another Purple screen...

I sent mine in for this repair mid-August, and haven't gotten it back yet. Starting to get worried...

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

Yeah, I'm new to Linux scripting, as if that wasn't obvious. I'll take a look at this over the weekend and see if I can do a more friendly version.

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

Those of you who are playing the game, I recommend that you open up your init.txt file (should be in /settings) and find the following line: "# char_set = ascii". Remove the pound sign (which denotes a comment) to force Crawl to use the ASCII character set. 0.8 uses a different set by...

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

Try turning off the scrollbar in your console manually before running it.

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

That's funny, every time I run it, a new terminal window appears. (which is the intended behavior) It disappears when I leave the game. But then, I typically have a terminal window open at all times. The command issued by the .pnd is supposed to start a new terminal window, (which is full...

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

You know, I haven't tested it on MiniMenu. In fact, I've all but forgotten that it exists. I don't know much about MiniMenu, but would terminals have a problem in that environment? I'll have to load up MiniMenu when I get home and see if it works. In the meantime, why don't you guys try it...

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

Is anyone else having problems reaching the main menu? Or are people too busy playing Crawl to post here? ;) I have to wonder if it's a problem specific to his Pandora. (which has recently been restarted, right?) Try downloading it again, the transfer might have been borked.

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

You see an icon, but when you start it, nothing happens, not even a new appdata folder. (where one didn't exist before) It seems like its failing before any script gets run, since one of the first things a .pnd does is create an appdata folder if it doesn't exist.

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

Has anyone at least been able to reach the main menu? If you get that far, the game can be made playable as described above. (or just wait until the fix is up)

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

That's not the same problem as what I found. Restart your Pandora? If that doesn't work, try downloading it again. If it's not even creating an appdata folder, something is very wrong. If you put it in your /apps folder, do you see the icon?

    Release Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

Does nothing happen when you try to run it, or does a blank terminal appear then disappear? Also, check your appdata folder -- is there a stone_soup folder, and what does it contain? Edit: Okay, I've found the problem. I made a change to the startup script in the final version that broke the...
