Great Craig thank a lot, now I can keep the hair I have remaining, that I was pulling out trying to build the bugger.

MrT

I do not think there are any speed changes in this release. It's simply a consolidation of the original code (Toms code), with Craigs (and Guy Fawkes) code changes to make the saves and loads work properly.

Now they have it working and saving/loading they have a safe base from which to start going forward with.

We should be just be grateful that the previously stagnant port now has the potential to move forward.

The fallout from the last day or so should have taught us to gleefully accept anything that is given to us, and to not criticise, otherwise we will stop being spoonfed.

2 cents worth, spent

COOOOOL !!!!! B)
Finally the Doom port moves forward !! I was waiting for this since I bought my GP32 last summer ! Can't wait to see it running with sound (begging on my knees for a release with sound) .
Thanks a lot for your great work, Craig !!! :D

Doom's one of those games I didn't want to play until it had saves (I'm too shite a player to manage without them). Now it does, I can have a go - yaaaay. I've been looking forward to this for ages :)

This is really good news, I know how much of a hard time you guys had getting the source to compile soits nice to see that you guys got it sorted out. Its also nice to here that you guys are starting to get sound as well. This port was already pretty amazing but saves and the posability of sound in the future is really nice to see. After that if there were some sort of gamma option to finish it off thiis port would be down right perfect. Nice job craig I can't wait to try it out.

Craig - just to ask, do you intend on releasing the source and/or instructions for getting it to compile?

Did you use the official SDK or gcc?

Just because there are still features to be added, such as zdoom mod support, or modding to make other 3D games, and I'd like to have a go :)

btw craig there are still control flaws, like with change weapon sometimes it works sometimes not (i'm assuming it is select + > or <) and sometimes it locks you into that direction so you'll start spinning or moving forward or backward until you press it again! Could be a problem on my end but thought you'd like to know :)

should i just make SELECT change the weapon?

Also i am making it compatable with Heretic (etc.) now too, so it should be a really nice program with all the doom engine games supported.

Yes i will release the source when the sound it working to a level i am happy with (which should be tonight :)

yeh just make select change weapon, its pretty usless for anything else

Thank You Thank You Thank You. Doom....I remember back in the day......

Thanks for all you hard work with this, and good luck getting the sound to work ;)

Craig, I hope I'm doing the right think by -not- posting news of this, but if you're ok with this showing up on gp32x, tell me. Also I take it the source, when released, will compile under GCC?

lol you can post about it, you can all share them - i'd not give them out to people on irc if i didn't want them to be enjoyed! :)
