can someone point me towards a guide on how to replace the a/b buttons? my a button makes a weird clicking sound when i press it (and its uncomfortable) so i want to take it apart to see whats going down before buying some replacement buttons.

I don't think there is a guide... I replaced my button membrane as the rubber had broken from severe shootemup action, and it's not too difficult. Just take care opening it up and you should see quite easily where they are.

Oh, and you will have to unscrew the circuit board to get to them btw - you'll probably find the rubber has bust like mine, if you tinker with it it will probably render the button completely useless until you buy a new membrane (what happened to me)

hm.....ill probably wait until i get back from holiday then. i was trying to open the case last night but the bottom was stuck and i didnt want to break anything so i just gave up.

turns out i didnt unscrew the screws in the battery compartment. the circuit board looks a bit complex to take off. ill order the replacement membranes from gbax and they should hopefully arrive on monday (holiday on tuesday so if they dont arrive im screwed)

it's not too hard to take off, just be careful you don't pull it away from the front shell and yank the joining wire out, you should be able to at least get a good look at the button in question to see if it is cracked or whatever

I tried removing the membrane and reseating it, and after this the button was stuck in and unresponsive until I bought the new one....

edit: and don't forget to remove the d-pad first!
