Will be picking up my GP32 from UPS in a couple of hours (was still in bed when they came). I've read the FAQ for some info. I would just like to know where to start i.e what bios, dr spivs seems the most popular, which emus. There seem to be many utils knocking around. I would just like an experienced user to reccomend what version/type of bios i should start and a few working emus. I am an experienced programmer and hope to contribute to the gp32 scene once i get my head around the SDKs. Thanks in advance

don't bother going through the hassle of f;ashing the gp32 right off the bat. Try the normal firmware and see if you like it then decide from there. A really good starting point would be doom. This is a great port and really shows the power of the gp32. From there try out gpengine or little john these are two of the most complete emulators and are really impressive. I have still yet to try opensnes bit I hear it's great just don't expect perfection here.

Snes - Opensnes9x
Megadrive - Fgen32
Nes - Little John
Master system/gamegear - Fsms32
Gameboy - GPvGB or Fgb32
Atari St - CaSTaway
Turbo Graphics 16 - PC Engine
Doom - GPDoom
Gianas Return

Theres also some other systems like the commadore 64 that have excellent emulators, and *loads* of home-made games that you can find and try, but these will most deffinately get you started with the required roms/wads.

Make sure to search if you have any probs setting up, lots of people have most likely been through the same problems as you, if you get any, if you cant fine the answer then post a thread asking.

You can find guides on how to set up here.
