Ok im not a noob with virtual dub (at least i think im not) and ive used it for a while. Recently i put a video on my pc from my vhs player. I transfered the file to my other pc and it wont play audio because it cannot find the correct decompressor and because of this i cannot encode it for gp32 with sound. How do i download the correct decompressor? (i probably made this thread way to long than needed but w/e)

I'm having the same problem, and when I used gspot it told me that it coulnd't find the correct codec to decompress it. Then it told me as a possibility to click play and then render it, and nothing for audio emerged only video. Any other suggestions?

Gspot should tell you what audio codec is needed, what is displayed in the codec field (i.e. ac3 (0x2000) "Dolby Laboratories, Inc")

gspot is not a player, it just analyzes avi files

if virtualdub cannot decode the audio, you may have to extract the entire audio stream with another program and then use this on the virtualdub encode - I've not done this before but this is what I have been told before
