Gbax Coding Competition

Someone best inform the author of the GBA and PSX emu

Yep as well as Rlyeh, thunderZ and yoyofr. Great prize money. Emus should get updated quite nicely :D

I foresee great times for us GP32 owners! Prepare to see lots of emulators and ports in the coming weeks (hopefully) thanks to the lovely prize money!

Thanks Craig and company for running this, without continued support through such events, the scene would just not be the same. Thanks.+

hehe...

Hando, looks like it's time to pull down that old GBAX 2003 link from the front page since the only thing still downloadable is asteroids...

I dont think it holds much weight, the patent should only cover an exact set of instructions, if the emmulator isnt exactly the same their patent cant be infringed upon. It sounds like a frivolous idea Nintendo came up with to scare people away from the zodiac emulator...especially since it was being sold for profit.

Its invalid everywhere else in the world too anyway I'd think (since its a software patient), still scary that they are going ahead with this new approach.

hehe only invalid untill people realize they dont have much of a platform to stand on.

Nintendo: "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

bah, compaired to the fancy american tapewave zodiac, the big N aint afraid of GP32 quite yet, untill we release a fully working GBA emulator: GWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

someone contact this guy enf65? or whatever his name is and tell him bout the coding comp?
could anyone do that?
I think if we tell him and the PSX emu guy, then we might have one nice May 1st

~Octavious

Craig? can you tell both these guys we would like them to code for the comp?

GBAX has always had the best competition, and at the right time of year too - when most people have just bought consoles (after Xmas) and had enough time to get to know them, and when there are a few significant holiday times for schools + universities (Easter, long weekends)...

I won't be entering, having retired from the coding scene after hitting an artistic peak with Air Rage, but I can't wait to see how this compo turns out....

Small problem

Reffering to the whole patent thing, if the GP32 is released in Europe it will bring the GP32 to the attention of Nintendo because it will be more commercial, if nintendo then finds its consoles are being emulated and that Gamepark are making a profit from selling a console which can do this, all hell will break loose

hum and for emulator on xbox ? mmmm
don't worry, no problem with nintendo.. it's not an official emulator.
