(waits for the flames to die down)

all you knowledgeable coding guru's ..
why has mame never been ported to GP32, I mean properly ..
it seems to be available for Windows CE & even Symbian machines
and there are ARM optimised versions there already
so my guess is it's not *such* a major job .

is it just the good'ol RAM limitation that's the prob again?

just asking u know ;)

cheers
Dave

People are already working on MAME for the GP32 (rlyeh is working on one and craig has released one, you can download it from this site). Just don't expect MAME on the GP32 to be the same as the one on your PC. MAME emulates different machines with different hardware and a lot of those will never be emulated on the GP32. You can also forget about playing playing games with very big romfiles. It will, however, be very cool to play some classic games on the GP32. If that is what you are looking for I suggest you start with XCade, it's fun :)

Personally, I'd be happy with the Williams games, ie Joust, Defender, Robotron, Sinistar, etc. None of these would be taxing at all for the GP32...

Obviously somebody would need the spare time...

Can u not play these on an OLD Atari (Not ST) EMU?????? Is there one about????

Im looking forward to MAME regardless of the chipsets and boards it will support...

*Turns sarcasim on * So when will the CPS1 and CPS2 EMUs be about, and the PS2 *Turns sarcasim off*

Take care GPers

The cps1 and cps2 games are 90% 400x300 resolution, gp is 320x240,
also they need a lot ram.

There is an atari 800 emulator...
