Hi All.

I had a bit of a disaster over the weekend: I had my gp32 in it's case (actually a GBA case) in a bag. Somehow, the screen smashed while it was in there. I guess the case wasn't as much protection as I hoped! The plastic looks OK, but the LCD has burst into a black splodge, so I think the screen is far beyond rescue.

So: I'm pretty sure the device is now dead, but is there anything I can do? I guess the screen is most of its value so wouldn't be cost effective to replace even if I found one? I can't really let it go witout asking, however hopeless it probably is.

Or maybe I could do a casemod. Stick a game & watch in the gp32 case maybe! ;)

I bought my gp32 just before FLUs were available - maybe this is natures way of telling me to throw more money at GBAx!

The black splodge is the ink inside I think. You can buy the LCD screen. I suppose it wouild be hard to find a manufactuer. If you bought the GP32 from GBAX they will do a repair if it was bought within 6 months, I am however unsure of the certanty.

They won't repair something that you have broken yourself. You are unlikely to be able to buy the LCD screen seperately either. Looks like a new GP32 is called for :(

really gutted for u

I've noticed a market for broken gp32s for spares maybe you could get a few quid back for it if u post in the marketplace forum

Or maybee you could buy a gp32 say with a recked bios and just swap the screen

I'd be interested in trying that if I could find one, but I doubt they're very common. I guess anyone who has one would be able to offer it in this thread! I think I'll leave it for a little while and let my wallet recover from all that money Apple have just had from me. Then maybe I'll get a FLU and pass the old one on for parts.
