I always could overclock my gp32 to 160 mh with no problems !
On the latest version of os9xgp my gp freezes after a couple of minutes !!!
anybody else with the same problem ?

I have read stories about different emus being able to overclock at different speeds. Maybe Opensnes is one of them?

Just to check... do you have the latest version of OpenSnes? The earlier version would crash after a few mins if you had the sound turned on.

As I understand it, your "top speed" varies from emulator to emulator.

I can OC fgen to 166, but opensnes to only 160. I think I've heard it suggested that openses might work your GP32 particularly hard, hence the crash.

It may be to do with how much strain each program puts on the CPU. I can play some games on GPengine at 166mhz fine, but if I try and play afterburner at that speed, it locks up after about 20-30 seconds.

yup me 2  rly is a how-to-overclock-right king he makes everyone go up to 166 lol

Same here. I can run at 166 mhz on fGEN for at least 10 minutes, but on the rest of the emulators, I can only go for about 20 seconds.

On fGen and gpengine ive played at 166 without a single crash.. and ive played them for long periods of time too. when i overclocked snes i crash after like 15 minutes and my gp gets hot.

I can't get Opensnes above 160 without crashing, but I can get fgen to 166 no probs. HOWEVER that is with a power supply attached, otherwise 160 is my limit on batteries.

Yeah - that variable speed limit seems to be getting more obvious with OpenSnes9xGP coming out. It seems to really push the GP32, even more than anything that has come before...
