Christmas Present - fGEN32 Private Beta!

gee 80% is being kind at 132 mhz and there is no sound....Real compatible, played 12 diff games from sonic to gunstar and they all worked no hassle. But shit probably best gen emu yet......Anyways I was always a super nintendo guy...I never trusted those sega genisis kids...they all seemed to be a little unbalanced and most of them were loners....and they had a real thing against anyone owning a ninendo....damn im bored!!!!!!

Tried with several games only lion king didn`t work but definately the best genesis emu so far
If I may remember correctly, there was a Lion King for the SNES, too. It's almost the same game.

I wish Ryleh and Yoyofr were both in the Dreamcast Scene but ahh well they arent but heres some news for ya.

Ryleh has released publically his Genesis emu for the GP32 heres the details

Ryleh has given all GP32 owners a little Xmas treat with the release of a previously private beta only release of his Genesis emu for the Gamepark 32, heres the news in this release:

some issues:

- the z80 cpu is not active so compatibility is lower but speed is faster
(this made some games freezing like ThunderForce IV when getting items)

- the % of cpu gets mad at cpu frequencies higher than 133 (like 156 and so on)
so dont use the % then as a reference. Its a problem laying on SDK libs.

some features:

- good compatiblity (check issues)
- it has a fSMS32 style menu.
- it has zip and raw support, for SMD and BIN genesis file formats.
- it is able to load up 4mbyte (32 mbits) roms

wow i didnt expect it to be as good as it is. its not great but at least i have extremely playable gunstar heros.

and are there saves? i cant find any save menu/option anywhere.

Well, I'm happy... Pirates Gold seems to work... However I've not throughly testet it as I'm on my way out the door again... I'll do this tomorrow, since I've got some time to kill in the car on the way to some relatives

So this is extremly up to date. Its not just some oldish beta from a we while back. Just thinking that cus it doesnt play and awfull lot different than the early wip reports commented about it quite a while ago on gp spain. still, brilliant emu.

*Ahem* If you need to know if a game works or anything, don't forget good old http://www.thaworx.co.uk/genemu/
Will there be an option for "251203 (Z80 off)" when submitting reviews? I'd like to post feedback for a few games, but do so under the right version. Speaking of which:

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: If this isn't 95~100% @ FS2/166MHz, I don't know what is. FS1 is more like 80~90%.
OutRunners: ~85% FS2 @ 166MHz, minor graphics glitching in the backgrounds/
Super Hang-On, Sonic 2, Sonic 3: All around 80%.

EDIT: I was wondering why on earth there would be a 66MHz mode...then I realized it makes for a good battery-saver "sleep" mode when leaving a game paused for a few minutes. Just felt like pointing that out.
Oh, and Sonic 3's 3D-style Special Stages suffer from all kinds of messed-uppedness.

EDIT2:......all right!!! Sonic and Knuckles & Sonic 3 (yes, the combined game) works! 75% speed at FS2/166MHz...try zipping it to cut the size from 4MB to 2MB.
Sonic Crackers (notorious rumored Sonic 4 beta...): 75% speed at FS2/166MHz...all the game-killing bugs and glitchiness of the original are emulated perfectly.
