My joystick is not working right. Ok, this is the thing. When you hear the click, that means it pushes a small button or something. All work, but when I tilt it to the Upper right position in between the forward and right controls, NOTHING happens. NO clicking sound and it doesnt work at all. HEEEEEEEEEEELP

my diagonals don't respond well either, it's the design of the system that's messed up. My top left and top right dirn's never respond properly. I opened the system but couldnt remove the white plastic thing covering the buttons. HELP.

i took mine apart and and opened the white box and put a thin piece of foam where the joystick rests. now my joystick works great in all directions. do this at your own risk and make sure the foam is just thick enough, if it is too thick then some directions will always be pressed. test your joystick with the button test screen by pressing LRRLRRLL on the main screen

Just reopening an old thread. after i manage to get the joystick off for the first time, it now does do any diagonals (a warning to people, just dont bother removing the joystick!). Could someone make a small photo guide to this do you think please? Or is there a better way to hit those diagonals? KOF91 and Gianas Return (c64) are basically unplayable now thanks to being unable to jump diagonally. Thanks.

thats not what he was saying. I was thinking about taking my joystick out to clean the inside but im guessing its not advisable

I've got a feeling that white thing is attached to the PCB extremely securely. Often, just pushing the joystick down solves problems like these, especially if your joystick is loose. When I say down, I mean towards the GP32, not the dirtection 'down' on the joystick itself.

give it a go.

yeah, but dont do it! mine worked fine b4 i did. and iv tried putting it back every way. its lame cos now i cant play fighting games cos i cant jump, and side scrolling shooters dont work 2 well. god dammit!

Edit: oh, and no sorry pushing it in, or pushing it halfway or whatever doesnt work.

Yeah, diagonal control is initiated by the pressing of two adjacent microswitches.

god, i wanna try and put something underneath that thing, but i'm worried i'll break it....
