I've been playing Zelda Links Awakening recently and earlier tonight I added a few more things to my SMC. when I loaded Zelda and attempted to load my save state... nothing

sob...

I know for a fact I had saved it... dammit.

is it normal to lose save files when you add things to the SMC??

btw I was using ryleh's superb gb/gbc emulator. (hope I spelt his name right)

SMC's do tend to corrupt themselves, but not very often. I keep a backup of all my SMC on the PC anyway, just in case disaster strikes. To be honest, I'd say it's more of a GP bug than an SMC fault.

okay, thanks for the info.

If I can find the saved games I'll make sure I backup in important ones :)

what does a saved state look like??

it's also worth mentioning that SRAM saves are usually compatible with PC emulators (even if you have to rename them). I don't know the filename in this case, but they're usually pretty small files...it will have the same name as the actual ROM, but the extension will be different. Seeing as Zelda games are fairly big, you should be able to find it easier...it wouldn't be bigger than 10kb. (the biggest savegames are homebrew ones, FYI)

That happens to me all the time, only on fgb32.
It fucked up my saves in metal gear solid, and I've tried backing
up the saves on my pc but it fucks those up all the time.
So while fgb32 is a great emulator, I wouldn't recommend
anyone to play long rpgs or adventure, or you might break
your gp32 from frustration.

I do have the exactly same experience with fGB32, I cannot save since then the saves are corrupt. Used to have trouble with fSMS too but rlyeh somehow managed to patch that in the last release.
Looks like its a problem with some of the 128MB SMCs, everything runs okay on my 8MB SMC (everything I manage to cram there ;))

I also have had problems with save states in fsms and fgb, but I don't really think its the smc because I have not had any problems whatsoever with littlejohn.
