Hi everybody,

I've got a little tip with snes9xgp. :D

I've the 156Mhz overclocked release <_< and i have note
the emulator run faster when switch on then switch off the sound. B)

I hope this will be useful for some people

Bye -_-

Really!!!!! WOW!!!!! I didn't know that turning off the sound made a speed increase!!!?

ps. I AM BEING SARCASTIC

u sure?

like Speed1

then u turn on sound u get Speed2

then u turn off sound u get Speed3

and you're saying Speed3 would be faster than Speed1?

if thats so, then thx hehe

Exactly ;)

Really!!!!! WOW!!!!! I didn't know that turning off the sound made a speed increase!!!?

bye default the sound is off but when you enable and disable it run a little faster

bye

just tried this shit and i really think it works :D
i trieded the beginning of super bomberman, first w/o sound it was slow than i turned sound on and it was even slower then i turned it off agaion and somehow it was a *little* faster then w/o sound at the first moment.

If that's true, I'll be impressed. If it isn't, I'll have wasted no more than 5 seconds of my life on the first attempt; Thanks for the tip!

2 possible causes I could think of:

1. Bug. some sound rendering is on default, turning it on turns all of it on and plays, then turning it off turns everything off (including what was at startup)

2. Illusion. You have just seen the game MUCH slower with sound, and you think that the last time it is faster, when you are really 1/2 comparing it to the 2nd time (with sound)

As I remember, this also happened with the Dreamcast SNES emulator Dream SNES. For some reason, if you turned the sound and another optimization on, then started a game, turned them off, continued the game, and then turned them back on again it ran faster...Or so people claimed on the message boards - I could never notice the difference myself.

I agree with rcx21000, it could all be just a trick that your brain plays on you. Since when you turn the sound ON everything crawls, when you turn it OFF you may think its really running faster when in fact it isnt.
