Does the FLU have AR film?

If I remember correctly, I believe so. I know for sure that the screen exhibits the same purple pyramidal reflection effect (I have no other way of describing it) as the Afterburner kit does, although on a much smaller scale.

The pyramidal reflection effect is sue to the very closely spaced parallel reflective stripes across the reflection layer.

Must admit, it definitely cuts down the contrast on the screen - my old non-flu was way clearer than my flu with the light switched off....

Also, the AR layer is a layer on the outer plastic protective screen, which gives it a sort of blue/purple hue when tilted in teh light. On some GP32s, it comes off if the screen is wiped too hard.

Also, I'm not referring to that annoying piece of plastic thats on the screen when it's shipped, and which some people keep on (!). If you keep it on, you're way too protective, and also negate the point of having the AR coating onm the screen in the first place!

my friend took that annoying piece of plastic off when he wanted to use my GP32, and almost immediately he sneezed all over the screen.. nice one, eh..?

The purple anti reflection coating is on the outside. Mine sort of started coming off those so i rubbed it all off and the screen seemed clearer after that and the flu still works fine.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask is there seems to be a blue haze when looking straight at the screen, which bugs me. It seems like you can see the bottom edge of some film near the bottom of the screen that goes all the way across. When I look through that little "crack", there is no blue haze. It looks way clearer. So I have the urge really bad to open it up and remove whatever it is. Friends of mine like the GP32, but they complain about the screen being too dark, so I'm wondering if they forgot to take one of the protective pieces of plastic off one side of the FLU itself, that's kinda what it looks like. Sorry for the bad description, but does anyone know what I mean?
