okay..i finally got this damn thing to work but i am wondering how to put pictures and divx files on my gp32 from my computer...i downloaded pc link host and all but i really dont know where to go from there.....i can put mp3s on it but not anything else...if you can help...thanks...

you need to also download free launcher and install it. What that will do is give you a menu so that you can load up all of your emulators and other software an run it. Jus sownload it then in pc link choose insall and let it do its thing. Then for pictures and .txt viewing you will also need gp_veiwer. The viewer is all in korean so the menus are hard to navigate at first but once you play with it alittle its not to hard to figure out. Its nice because you can get your games set up then go to gamefaqs.com and get walkthroughs and code sheets in .txt format and bring them along with you.

this is a very good set up tutorial so check it out it dosn't explane how to use the gp_viewer but it might come in handy - http://207.44.176.77/~admin28/gp32emu/faq/...q/settingup.htm

thank you very much...now what is moviepark or something because it "costs" and i was wondering how good it is and what it does?....thanks :)

dammit. ..i put the divx file on to my gp32 but i wouldnt know how to open it with what program and i was also wondering if it playes sound?.....thank you

moviepark costs under seven dollars, and is decent.

the free divx player is, to be honest, crap - the lack of sound and dodgy screen orientation aren't big selling points.

do yourself a favour, get moviepark.

Hey,

Movie Park is an excellent adition to the GP32. It cost me about 8 or 9 U.S dollars. It downloaded and installed easy and plays movies great. The only bad thing about it is that you have to piss around with encoding files to the right specs. Worth it for sure.

thanks....what i have now is gpdivx but ill get rid of that soon....so in the meantime...how would i load a divx file...? :(

Okay.....i got that taken care of...i can no play divx files....but when i try to open a 30 meg video, it always freezes....why?....it might be of lack of space on smc?.....thanks..

No idea, but its not too much work to split a 30 mb movie using virtualdub - just select the area using home for the start, end for the end of the selection (in time, admittedly, not size), then make sure everything's set to direct stream, and there ya are.
Its not too bad a system.

hehe the freee divx player ain't bad if all you watch in sub titled anime...like i do:) but the only problem i have with it is it made my avi go funny, like lots of mini-screens:) it was amusing but means i need to buy moviepark:(

Divx has run a, porche clip in which it does 205mph. This was run smoothly and crisp yet it was upside down?

what settings in vdub do u run for anime on gpdivx.

Also can you use vcd galaxy to rip dvd to the appropiate file type?

:D

aarrrgghh  ......i straight up put the avi file that i donwloaded on to my gp32 and then i open moviepark....for those who have it, you gotta press select and then choose your file from there. when i highlight the file and push A....it resets the gp32...is there anything that i have to do before?

and by the way...what the hell is an smi file?? ;)

SMI is standard format for subtitles

and you need to rip the video to MoviePark-compatible settings: 320x240 or 320x176, 10FPS max (use the Decimate settings in virtualdub), 128kbps video max (set it to 64kbps for it to work), 22KHz 16bit 40kbit mp3 audio

yes!! ....

i finally got it to work...the only bad thing is that the quality sucks....thank you for getting it to work...i just need to know how to get better quality....any ideas...

use a resize filter other than nearest neighbour, as NN looks like something that came out of a cat's ass. the latest virtualdub includes a filter called "lanczos3" which looks good, otherwise use BiCubic. virtualdub lists the filters in quality order, with the best at the bottomm of the list.

thanks all...it really helped...

anyway....is there a way to clean the screen without messin it up....?...
and can the gp32 play mpeg at all and with what program?

Actually, you should use Bilinear for re-sizes to lower resolutions; bicubic is supposed to be for re-sizing upwards, although both make a nice difference.
Lancoz3 I fiddled with somewhat... its kinda like the equivalent of a "SuperEagle" mode (except for down-sizing) compared with the kinda 0.5xSai type of thing you get with BiLinear - it gives you a clearer image, but more distorted.

I still can't get it working!
can anyone tell me exactly how to install the codecs and where to find them
