AVI to DIVX?

Are there any free programs (prefferably for mac, but pc is ok), that an convert avi files to divx? I heard that divx is the file format you need for the gp32 to play them (I'm hopefully getting one for christmas ^^), but I don't know how to convert my avi files to divx. Um so anyone know a good program?

Your avis may already be divxs. Divx is what's called a codec, it's used to compress avis, if not you can find plenty of tutorials on sites like this about how to convert them.

well they're about 170 megs for 30 minutes, um is that about normal for something that is compressed with divx?

Use this guide to convert any of your vids to the correct framerate, codecs. etc. or u can use this guide if you like. both do the same thing.

Just right click on your movie file and select properties, it should tell you somewhere in there which codec its used with???

i´m not a master of deadvanced programing...
