Hiya all,

Been working on this for a while. Thought I'd post it here and see what people think...

Withoutacare.mp3

Its a song called 'Without a Care'. Everything written, played and recorded by me, except Bass, which was played by my Mate rich, who's a better bass player than I'll ever be. Recorded using my home recording setup. Mixing aint quite finished yet, but hell, it's as near as dammit.

Rico and WarmFluffy have heard this already, bt it'd be intereting to see what other think!

Have a listen and let me know!

Cheers,

Axeman

Very nice!

The bridge doesn't quite seem to fit the song to me, and I think for this type of pop song the vocals need to be a lot more prominent but otherwise very well done!

I'm impressed! Well done, man. Nothing revolutionary, but very very enjoyable. I suspect you didn't intend to revolutionise anything either, so it's good.

Thumbs up!

Edit: I just got to the bridge Dzz mentioned, and I have to agree. It seems a little out of place.

Aye - The vocals are a bit quiet at the moment. A result of some heavy EQing without pumpng them back up a bit.

I like the bridge ;) :p

As for being revolutionary - like you said - wasn't the idea. Am still honing my skills in the home studio. Got the rest of my life to be revolutionary :p

By the bridge - do you mean the middle eight? The bit where it slows to half tempo?

Yeah, the slow bit. It stroked me against the hairs a tad. Nothing big, though.

I have to say that you're doing well with your home studio. The technical quality of it is pretty good. I can't say I noticed the vocals being too low, but that may just be me.

Was trying to decide if the vocals were a bit low. Basically, I EQd the guitars by banging some more middle and top on them, and it sort of blended away the vocals a bit. Suppose it would depend on your audio setup whether they sounded too quiet or not...

Very good :D, I hope when you get onto Top of the Pops you will be wearing a GP32 / GP2X T-Shirt ;) :D

Keep up the good work :)

Top of the Pops has gone :( (or is going very soon)
But good song. I like classic rock/country type music (sorry if that wasn't what you were going for - but I liked it). It wasn't perfect, but it was a good listening and definitely added to my playlist ;) (which is surely your primary goal)

Hurrah! :D

Going for a sort of rocky poppy type sound. Like just good fun rock....

Hehehe, yeah

The vocals need to be stronger, but not necessarily a different voice - perhaps just louder slightly?
If thats your voice, big thumbs up! I just sound like an epileptic cat when I try to sing
