I have not seen the source for this released but probably might be out there, but how feasible do you think MechCommander 1 / Gold would be on a GP2X. I remember I was able to run it on a pentium 120Mhz back in the day very good game as well! ... 6 years old roughly now the game is.

No source code.

There's source-code for MechCommander 2, but it's under a MSFT Shared Source license and requires DirectX 8 as well as a pretty substantial investment in 3D hardware.

Also: How would you play without a mouse? I remember it to be quite nasty control wise... I think it would play horrible without a mouse.

lack of source notwithstanding, you would have better luck (and more fun) with ports of the older mech games. in the late 80s and early 90s there was a long series of hex-map turn-based mech command strategy/combat games. ill try to find some of mine, ive got boxes and floppies around here somewhere. great games. might even run in DOSBOX...

Presumably if the PS1 had it then there is a possibility (and I use that in the least likely sense) of it eventually working and (for that matter) running acceptably on PSx4GP2x. However, whilst I've every hope for Zodttd, U-nai and Chui to succeed with flare, I suspect it'll be a long haul before we get close.
