So if I undestood right in 8 short days we will have MAME ?????????????????????

its the ending of the gp32spain emu contest right?
yes then we have mame.. but dont think to play neogeo :D
hmm Sonic Wings 1 should run :D

Would the old X-men or RoboCop game be playable?? That would be awesome on the road.

as far as it's been stated, gosh that's a terribel way to begin a post, it looks like it runs CPS-1 games - the likes of ghosts n goblins, 1942, commando, that sort of thing. and even then, not fullspeed (and I'd be surprised if sound was emulated)

does it have data east drivers (robocop, bad dudes) ? Konami? all the earlier stuff? (galaga, centipede, ms pacman, digdug, etc) - damned if I know. The few screenshots that were shown were just those capcom games, and it's been awhile since then. I remember some posts shortly after that said (unless I misunderstood)that he'd ported a VERY recent version of Mame with lots of drivers in there - but that might mean many things, I wouldn't even know if such a thing would load to begin with (in raw form!) And even if it did load, if it wasn't optimized much (or at all) for GP32 hardware then pretty much all of the games (even super-old games) would probably be super-slow to the point of unplayability. Fun? Not really. An interesting tech demo and a wonderful prospect of things to come? Surely.

BUT -- who am I to say. I have not seen a beta of the thing and it's been a long, long time since any news has been released on it. I am no coder/tech-head either.. and I wish Ryleh (Rlyeh !! ahhh I will never spell it right - maybe I'll just call him George from now on) all the luck in the world and even give him the benefit of the doubt, he's done lots of generous work for the GP32 scene and proven himself not to be vaporous (just maybe a bit ambitious, though there's nothing wrong with that!)

Anyway, all things considered - I am not holding my breath for the culmination of the GP32 spain contest. Yes, I am looking forward to it, and any surprises would be just super-ass bitchin' -- but based on the tiny leaks (and limited press from the meet-up) I wouldn't go and get all your hopes up for a great build of GP32 Mame just yet (Prove me wrong!). Especially in light of all that's gone on recently in the scene (re: Snes emulation). But of course, patience and support could go a long way - as usual!

At the end of the day - we all gotta wait and see. And that's it from me.
