Ok, on the main site GP2x.co.uk, it states:

GP2X Console MK2 (Latest version)
USB Cable for PC connection (With 2.0 Support)
Preloaded Linux with Media player (MP3, Divx, Xvid etc.)
CD with Games, Utilities, MP3 player, Movie player
Firmware 2.0, New TFT screen & 2 Joystick Caps
SDK - Make your own games!
Full User Manual
How to Guide/ Movie Samples/ Game Ports included

I didn't get either of these things. Is this a problem? Is it possible to get the applications i'm missing? It took them 8 days to send my unit, so I don't think i'll ask them to send me the disk they neglected to include, so if anyone knows where I can get the applications that are on the disk, it'd be much appreciated.

Everything that's on that CD can be found at the file archive (go to the main page of this site, and look to your right)

Dunno about the SDK, have you looked at gp2x.com?

I havn't, but I shall. As long as i'm not missing anything "essential" to run or take advantage of my GP2X fully, I'm not that fussed. That fact that they neglected to give me the batteries too though...i've been waiting over 7 hours for these NiMH batteries to recharge, I just want to use the damn thing

I must have missed the files in the file archive, but i'll give it another look.

Thanks for your help.

ah fret not, I got the cd, but it wasn't readable by my cd drive :)
There's isn't anything important on it anyway... just grab your fave emus from the archive, and roms from wherever, and you're away :)

(the games it mentions are presumably the demos that are sitting in your NAND)

You haven't missed anything "essential"
The things that you are missing are software that can be found for free online
If you don't know what the SDK is, then you obviously don't need it (it is only for developers)
The disk with the games on it just has some stuff from the file archives (http://archive.gp2x.de/)
Have fun with your new toy!

PS - start downloading stuff to put on your GP2X so that you actually have something to do with it once your batteries charge

Don't worry, I have plenty of software, games, emulators and movies encoded especially for the system. I've been preparing for it all week. And as for the SDK...i've been programming in C++ on and off for the past year and a half give or take, and from what i've heard the SDK does support that language, so it may give me an excuse to brush up my skills and put them to a more practical use sometime in the future.

The batteries that were included don't work/only last 10mins with the unit so you're not missing out.

yes the 'SDK' mostly used is C/C++ using the SDL libs specially compiled for GP2x
