I'm modding my Atari Flashback 2 into a 2600 Jr., and decided to post some pictures for those of you who may be interested, and just to show off, as well.

I've gotten quite a way through the mod, but I'm not nearly done.

I have four pics so far, these are the thumbnails, to make it easier for dial-up users (full-size pics are ~ 300-500k PNGs):

The FB2 case and parts I'm not using, plus discarded solder:

The FB2 circuit board with certain parts removed, and cartridge slot attached:

The 2600 Jr. case:

The home-made "adapter board" (I guess you'd call it that) for proper component locations, inside the Jr.'s case:

I thought about taking a picture of the Jr.'s circuit board with the components removed, but decided not to, 'cause it's not that useful to see. Then again, I guess the picture of the FB2's removed components isn't that useful either, but ah well.

thats pretty cool, how hard was it to add the cart slot?

It wasn't that hard to add, but it did take quite a long time, and I had to be extremely careful not to blob up any solder. That said, I wouldn't say this is a beginner's project by any means. I think someone with enough experience to install a solder-in mod chip in any one of the current-gen consoles should be able to do it without much trouble.
