can somebody make a program for windows (or the gp2x) that would allow you to hide all the folders you dont want to appear visible (like program files etc)

There already is... It's called make the files hidden, and make your explorer window not show hidden files

How? Right click a file, and under attributes, check hidden. Then go to the Tool button, go down to Folder options and click. Then go to the View tab, and check "Do not show hidden files and folders". Blamo!

... yes, but I think he means he wants to know how to do this for his GP2X. I'd like to make folders invisible too. (on my GP2X, not in Windows ... )

Change the folder name to start with a period, for example, .roms

Doesn't work on the SD because it's a FAT filesystem

My SD-card tree is as follows:

Apps (shortcuts to apps)
Emulators (shortcuts to emus)
Games (shortcuts to games
Interpreters (shortcuts to interpreters)
data (actual programs the above link to)
--apps
--emulators
--games
--interpreters
roms
cpuspeed.gpe

Which is perfect and completely clutterless for me. Aside from initial lots of script making, it's no trouble.

Has anybody tried creating some sort of 'favourites' folder using soft links?

Could be done but the you can't make links on the SD or user NAND as there both FAT filesystems

well i have the "soft links" setup and i put cpu_speed on the NAND, so i'm guessing that it's possible...the odd thing is that using the usb connection with nand didn't work (programs wouldn't overclock), i had to use samba and put it under /mnt/nand.

but i'm guessing running scripts from the nand would be fine, as long as you cd to the sd card.
