Try this

Remove the batter cover.

Turn it over so the inside surface is out and the curved surface is aligned with the bottom of the GP2x. (just flip it over)

Stand up on the table or desk.

Watch away. :D

I also agree with Tobriand. Surprising no-one's tried this yet. Now you could say your GP2X comes with a free built-in stand :)

Here's the picture for your reference:

Damn, homebrew taken to new heights :) I can't wait to get me a 2X. :)

I tried it, surprisingly stable and impressive.
makes me feel like a fool making my own stand afterschool in my design room

I think Guru status is only a matter of time...

Thanks - I agree by the way - after generously modifying every GP2x in existence free of charge B)

...and not a self adhesive carpet tile in sight - :D

For my next trick - increased slope angle with only an elastic band.

Loop a rubber band around the batteries and insert as normal.

Place the cover through the band and twist a few times 10-20 half turns to build up a light tension.

Balance on the battery cover curved edge - the rubber band holds the battery cover lug against the casing of the GP2x - it sits there quite nicely.

Available on Ebay shortly for 99p + £1.99 p&p

Pictures to follow.

Who actually knows where they have an elastic band though???
Its one of those things that grows legs and runs away when you need to use them.

i usually have several on the doorstep as my postman seems to think its a drop zone for them :) but your right, when you need them you can never find them.
