wtf...

You need the Neo Geo bios as well as the Gngeo2x files. Just google NeoGeo bios and you should have no problem finding it. As for the "gui?"...Ummm...wtf? :)

So you call this a question?:
bios? gui?
wtf...

Seriously, look around this forum, i help many newbies without making fun of them, but they do at least ask properly.

As for the bios, try to find a file called "neogeo.zip" .

sorry if i upset you :)
but... yes, i would say... "Is There A Gngeo2x Installation Guide For Dummies?, the wiki one isn't cuttin' it for me."... is a question, but that could just be me.

anyway, at least roms are now recognized, but they don't work, i used the unibios so let's hope that's what's the problem.
thanks again for your time and energy though...

Ok, what i meant was that you could point out where your problem actually is. It was clear enough that you had problems setting the up the emu, but everything else was a mystery.

However, if your roms don´t work, there should be either an error message or the emu quits to the gp2x menu.

We need information to solve problems.

the thing was like, i installed it a couple weeks ago but couldn't get it to work, i decided the wiki guide wasn't very clear about certain stuff like what to or not to unzip etc. so i deleted everthing gnneo related on my gp2x.
just wanted to give it a second try with an alternative guide...

you'r right, after selectin' a rom it flips back to the (orange) gp2x menu and some other games ask for a different or missin' bios, so my guess is i got the wrong bios?

got: neogeobios61298.zip, uni-bios22.zip and neogeo.zip
i'll try the neogeo.zip, unzipped in the romfolder like you and other suggested.
thanks.

Unzip your bios in the "rom" directory.
For neo geo you have to put zipped roms in a neogeoMVS folder in you neo-geo folder.
Then run the neogeo .gpe, go to your NgMVS folder and run your zipped game.

Hope this help.

Take note just what files those are. You need to find them. I suggest google.
