New Pack For Beat2x: Urban

Awesome.

I really wish Beat2X would just use standard Stepmania files, this would make it REALLY rock. They are so many of them out there, we would not have to do all this crappy porting of songs.

Crappy porting of songs? I beg to differ. Furrtek has done an amazing job with his converter.

Ive tried using Furrteks converter. I thought I had it right...no go. Just freezez my GP2X. A tutorial on how to use the converter would be grand. I never thought I would be this addicted to Beat2X.

The converting is fine and all, but it really would be great if it could use Stepmania files. That would open up such a huge library of music and steps to Beat2X. If someone can program a dance game for PSP that supports Stepmania files, I'm sure it can be done for GP2X and probably better at that.

^Misato^, Miq01 and me are working on that ;)

Please people... stop throwing this "StepMania Files" term around. It's DWI files. The format came from the DDR Simulator: Dance With Intensity.
StepMana has it's own format along side supporting DWI files.

Anyways, goes to try pack. :)

I understand that you mean that it would be nicer to be able to load them from inside the game instead of having to convert them. But, hey, Furrtek has done a great work with his converter! Correct me if I'm wrong but I think PSyMastR has used it to create his packs, and they are by far the best ones I've played to.

Anyway, as Puck says, ^Misato^ and him are working on it.

I used Furrtek's converter to convert my songs made in the Stepmania editor over to this format. The converter couldn't be easier. Drag and drop the file, choose the difficulty level you want converted, and boom, you've got a file. Really... Really... simple.

Oh, and thanks for the complement miq01. :D

Oh I have never heard of this converter but I don't own a windows computer, so it is quite impossible for me to use it. : (

Do you use Linux? Mac? Run it in Wine then. I dunno. (Sorry this post sounds so sarcastic, I dont mean it that way).

I don't own a windows computer either, that's one of the reasons why I'm working with Miq01 and ^Misato^ to implement native dwi support in Beat2X :)

Just wait for a while and you won't need any converter ;)

Level 5 is kinda hard :(
Yep. I'm there as well. Anyway, this is a great pack!

Btw, next version of Beat2X is going to be a bit (just a bit :)) easier.

thats awesome news, can't wait :)
My plan is to release 0.4 very soon (needs some new artwork to be made, but that's all), so I don't think there is going to be enough time to add Misato and Puck's code. Expect DWIs for 0.5. :)
