Hmm ... I am just wondering how many of you had problems when using headphones on your Gp2x for the first time.

I know this sounds silly , but when I was about to try sbagen to relax a little , I found myself in terror when the CONNECTOR JUST FELL INSIDE MY ONE MONTH GP2X ! ! ! Ahhhh !

After calming down , I've decided to open my beloved gp2x to see how bad the damage was.

So far I don't really know if it was damaged , the connector stopped on the top of what I believe is the NAND ram chip.

yeah seems to happen a lot, i sent my first one back becuase of it. Bad soldering. Either send it back (the replacement might be the same) or solder it yourself if you know how

Yeah ,

I just bought a new solder , and did it already , however ... I think I know the source of the problem , it is not bad soldering , believe or not it is the earphone jack's fault.

The metal contact parts inside it are "higher" than they should be. They are blocking the earphone plug , and when you push it a little harder , it breaks the solder inside.

I inserted and removed the plug a thousand times before soldering it back , and seems like it is a bit "loose" now , and the plug connects without applying force at all ...

My soldering is too bad , I know I will have to open my gp2x again very soon.

I love it , but this really sucks.

That happened to me and I sent my unit back. Gbax were realy understanding.

If I had a credit card , I would have ordered it from Gbax.
The place I bought my gp2x in Tokyo , gave me only 1 week insurance. Paid a lot , 252 usd , and they told me to use as much as I could in the first week , because they would not help at all if it dies ... nice huh? :)

The good news is , somehow I managed to fix it.

But I just realized that I swapped the caps for ext and usb+power ... gotta open it again (I am dumb)
