HOLY HELL! You are messy.
BLOODY CHRIST, I was thinking the same thing!

 :p

It might look messy and unorganised on the SD root, but didn't you notice how I kept it all alphabetical. :p

The end result is worth it for me given the current limitation of the default interface.

What do you guys think?
I still like digging through folders on my 2x to get to stuff. Its faster then scrolling. As there is no continual button press, you gotta move the joystick constantly.

I keep all my start-up scripts in a folder called "Apps & Emus"; it's parked right at the top of all the other folders, so I just click games, then the folder and lastly the Program I wish to run. :)

 It takes less than five seconds to get to any of the 37 icons on my list when scrolling either up or downwards you can hold the joystick in the the direction you want and one button press later launch it.:p

Of course I would much prefer an interface with more icons on screen and 4 way scrolling like the main GP2X menu has, but until then I'm happy with what I've done. :

And why does Gnuboy have to make a hidden directory in the root? It's very annoying  ;) :p

The files in /root are usually there because this is root's home directory. Add

Code:
export HOME=`pwd`

to the .gpe script to put them in the same directory as the .gpe script.

N.B. if you're not using copy/paste, make sure the quotes are ` not the single quote '

Okay going to try some mainstream stuff.

Here is my version of the Sega Megadrive/Genesis. Again hand drawn by me so if you want to alter it or do anything else to it feel free. :)

If it's too dark for your tastes just alter the levels/brightness/contrast in your favorite image editing program. I like it as it is and I know the detailing is there.

I hope you like it as well.

;)

I just sat here staring at my laptop and had an idea to make an icon of it.

I think it came out well.

Why did I make it?!!

As some ports have their origins on the PC, I thought I'd make a base to put a screenshot style icon. As I have only my laptop to take the design from I decided to use that.

For example.

I have a question. If your using an emu, say, handy for instance, and there is a save folder, how would I hide that so that when I open up 'games' in the main menu i only see the iconed gpe to click? As of now I have annoying folders for all the emus with more than one gpe file and I want to have something similar to what you have.

Is that script above necessary? I cant code so basically im a retard and that's out of the question for me

I don't know how or if you can hide the folders that's why I mentioned it earlier in the topic in the hope that someone would say "aha, I know how to do that!" But no-one has yet.

The example script I posted allows me to store everything in a subdirectory called games, and as a result when I go from the GP2X main menu to the games launcher I have four folders there by default. One is .gnbouy, one is games, one is drmd and the last is the roms directory. Than after that comes all the icons to launch anygame with one click, and of course you can scroll in either direction to find titles in half the time.
