So er.. can I have it?

Yes, but you will have to wait until Craig and Guyfawkes make it public :p
Okay, but I wouldn't be able to release the updated version yet for the same reason.

Goity, did you participate in the competition with a Fenix game?

Why didn't ask me for my last Fenix version? Maybe it could have done your game faster (it's much faster in some cases than Beta2) :(

If you don't release my Beta3 before Craig makes it public, I can send it to you :)

and a music puzzle game (forgot the name). Looks promising.
If you mean the second in the first row, yep, that's Beat2X. Kind of StepMania for GP2X.

Oh my Gawd!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please, no matter who made this, add support for Pump it Up! and the "controllers" (via powered USB ;) ), they should be available from stepmania.... nothing would be more awesome than this!!!!

OK...

As there isn't yet any screenshot on the http://gp2x.co.uk/gp2x2006/gp2x2006p.html of my entry I have to inpatiently post some screenshot here. I hope that isn't against the rules of competition but I have provided screenshot of my demo to admin already and I'm really want to show you something now.

So here you have it:

One of the effects from my demo. Enjoy!

What's Pump It Up!? Another dance game? For now, Beat2X supports its own format, but sooner or later, I hope I can add support for StepMania format as well.

Cool, it looks to be like one of those Amiga scene demos. I loved those hacker demos many of those were awesome. It would be cool to see what kind of demos could be done with the GP2X graphics co-processor and the second core.

I won't win, I need a bit of optimisation on music. Puck, would hardware scaling be possible?

can you please email it to me at rr007c6396@gmail.com I would distribute it yet at all. Is it uptodate with the latest CVS build of fenix?

That looks pretty neat. The still looks like a frosted glass effect. Look forward to seeing the rest of the demo.

AFAIK you don't need it for any project, so just wait a couple days,

It's nice that you like it.

There are two more effects in my demo. All are done using multiple playfields capable of pixel masking, zooming (trivial with my aproach but not showed in the demo) and the transparencies without any perfomance hit.

With 8 layers spanning the whole screen my routines have 35fps at average. Every pixel of them is tested/masked/processed so for some cases perfomance could be improved dramatically. Both output and source surfaces are at 16bpp.

I wasn't planning to relase it so early... The competition got me by surprise and I had to finish something in a haste.
(at the end I was so exhausted I was starting to have hallucinations) :)

For your fun another picture (thought the fbgrap didn't take the screen properly):
f26tp.png

There are six playfields all scrolling independently and one is with color substraction, four with addition and one with just pixel masking.
It's flying...

Actually it's a focal point/blur effect - the image is constantly moving and going to being from sharp to blurry (and reverse). It's using 8 transparent playfields (full RGB color addiction for every of them) and push over 30fps. It must be seen running to see what it's about.

O_O My demo has no chance of standing up to that... Although it makes me feel better that you were working on it before the compo was announced! Those screens do look impressive, although I can't wait to see it in motion.

Are those 21 things the only things that have been entered? i thought that there would be way more like...22 or somehting, but anyway im not sure of if this has been asked but why cant they release everything before they have annoced the winner? Im just curious.

edit: oh yeah has anyone tried the new squidgesnes beta?
