Faulty Power Switch?

I noticed that lately my 2x refuses to turn on 90% of the time, I used to atribute this problem to dead batterys, but not any more. I noticed that if you move the power slider all the way down, the 2x doesn't even get to the black loading screen, the LCD turns on and some random colored lines appear. howerver, if you move the switch about 3/4th of the way down, it will turn on and boot up normally.

To fix this problem, I opened up the 2x carefully, and stuck a little piece of paper inbetween the bottom of the switch and the switch itself. Sorry if these instructions aren't very clear.

So I was wondering... Anyone else have this problem?

I had this problem and sent it back to be fixed -- the only thing was that I never was able to get the system turned on, 3/4 of the way or not. When GBAX received the broken gp2x, they said it was a firmware issue.

Have you tried using an adapter?

I would but I don't have one. I've been meaning to buy one but RadioShack has it for like 40USD. Wayy too much for me. It works fine after I did my little mod anyways.

This happened to mine too, it's with GBAX at the moment. The little switch isn't the most robust. The contacts on the internal slider must be only about 1mm wide.

i have as similar problem (i think).
my batteries are full loaded (2 pairs of different companies) and when i switch on my GP2X, the black loading screen comes, the boot-sound is playend. But 80% the green loading screen is f*cked up.
Is it the batteries fault? (I hope so :/)

edit: can someone switch this to 'I need help'
