Given that this quite quickly turned into a group activity, should we prove successful, which charity should we ask Craigix to send the fifty quid to?
himself ;)
I think he'll be getting a decent chunk of cash if we do find him (alive). He used to license the engine for $6000 per project.

or maybe the free software foundation?
That's a decent idea though.

How freaky do you think it would be a stumble on an article/manhunt about yourself!

Maybe he's got a good reason to not want to be contacted by anyone? http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/commo...55E2682,00.html :(
I hope its not related to the guy we are looking for... :(
It is indeed (his brother is the deceased). There was the coroner's report posted a few pages back.

A really nasty turn of events and a good reason to delete this thread asap. Hopefully he'll appreciate the money.

Personally i think this search should be stopped and this thread deleted. The guy disappeared for a reason. What that reason is is nobodies business but his.

I agree with this. There was nothing wrong with the original request, but by now so many names, personal details, and distasteful speculations have been dredged up that it's at best a rude invasion of this poor guy's privacy, and should be stopped (especially if this community is hoping to get something from him).

Anybody with further info to help Craig in his search, how about sending it to Craig privately?

he's right.if he's brother really died, its understandable that he wants some privacy,or/and decided to change life, change city etc.he was shocked.and he should have our compassion, not finding him for some stupid 3d engine (yeah,it would be cool, but in front of these things, its stupid).

i have a brother too,and a sister.if i'm programming something for the pc,then one of them suddenly gets hill (i don't say d1e because i'm very unlucky and superticious)i would STOP what i'mdoing immediately since there are more important things in life ;)

yes,all that has been revealed is very sad.
I don't know the facts to well, but all that has been posted may not be true, his brother may not have died.
he also may have just got a full-time job and got married lol.
he may just not have the time to do what he used to do.

Not to be insensitive, but the person in question died five years ago. Life goes on -- I'm sure your brother/sister wouldn't want you to stop living your own life after grieving, would they?

Nothing has been confirmed. He may well just have another job not working in the computer industry, i don't think he ever sold a licence so he could have just given up on Yeti.

I'm pretty sure he would be happy to hear I have a few thousand dollars waiting for him, if only he could be found.

How was the pro version ported to the gp32 then? Did someone pay for it then?

And craig if you do find him maybe you could find out if you could get some sort of common license for all gp2x devs so that everyone who wanted to use the engine could without having to pay per project

In that case I'm Derek ;) No seriously I hope you find him.

that demo looks/runs great. and even though it's only a basic version of the engine, it's gpl'd and available for use, right? i mean even at this point i think some pretty great stuff can be done with it...i plan to take a stab at that once i finish my programming course in march.

Do you need a gp32 to play the pro version? my gp2x doesn't seem to find the pro version. The other demo works fine though :D . I done the same as last time, unzipped it and put it in a folder on my SD card. ;)
