A Whois on theteahouse.com.au gives the following information:

The Teahouse at Goodwood was also the name of the site when Derek was there. Maybe it would be worth contacting Danielle to see if they have any information.

This could just be a big coincidence as it looks as though there is a Teahouse at Goodwood called "The Teahouse at Goodwood" :)
The address of that is 164 Goodwood Rd, Adelaide and its phone number is 81721166.

So probably not. The other number you gave doesn't appear to exist :/

Hmm that looks like a perth number

try 08 9370 0371

I could look up the local phone directory

or you could try yellow or white pages online?

I know the phone number is right, I got it from Google's cached version of one of his pages:

http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:aTpj0-...en/contact.html

Too bad it isn't connected anymore

And I already tried with the White Pages online: There are about 5 people named D J Evans (doesn't let you search for full first name) in Adelaide :( And the Yellow Pages is for businesses, so that wouldn't help.

That's the same name as on the whois info for his site. Maybe it's his mother or something?

You might want to ask if anyone knows of his whereabouts at the sumea forums which is frequented by a lot of Australia game developers. AlienKinetics (yeti3d) is/(was) a member on there: (http://www.sumea.com.au/sprofile.asp?member=221)

There's also a specific Oz Game Developers mailing list where some of the subscribers may know of his whereabouts. I think it was ozdev, or something, but can't find any links to it atm. If I remember what it was, I'll send out the link.

Like I said, it is a real mystery, he has 100% vanished to the point of his phone number not even existing anymore. ThunderZ has a copy of the source luckly, however without Derek nothing can really be done.

Have you tried maybe going through the daedalus3D guys and seeing if they can hunt him down? I was pretty sure that daedalus3D was based on yeti source.

Maybe he was on that Oceanic Flight that fell on the Lost island and know he is in captivity by the "Others" and he is developing for them... :p

Lol, it's like "where is Waldo?"

Will try my best

Does anyone know any of the following:

How old is Derek?

Does he live in southern australia?

cause I found this when googling for his name (Derek John Evans appears in that "letter")

http://www.courts.sa.gov.au/courts/coroner...ans.finding.htm

I'll sift through that document.....

Well, not much in there, apart from an Adress of Shaun Michael Evans, deceased brother of Derek John Evans (our Derek?) in south Australia

23a Walkerville Terrace, Walkerville, South Australia

EDIT (dunno how much edits I have here now): another link with an adress to a person called Derek Evans in australia: http://www.imb.com.au/AboutIMB/mediareleas...t%3D10%26sa%3DN

Press Contact
Derek Evans
Gotley Nix Evans
(02) 9957 5555
derek.evans@gne.com.au

Ok, I think I am done. I doubt I'll find any more infos.

Tried that, though I didn't put much time into it. Nothing showing up.

Could this be our man?

http://users.chariot.net.au/~kimber/walrus.htm#Derek%20Evans

(How many Derek Evans can there be in australia?)
from site:
"He played a major role in setting up the 5RPH studios. The rest of his time is spent renovating Triumph cars and pursuing his musical interests."

nothing about devving... so I think this not the right one.

Edit: Craig, have you tried emailing: derek@theteahouse.com.au?
Edit2: I found the source :p:
