People keep saying that to have GBA emu is theft because it is not dead. But I was talking to an employee at a store (Target (they retail GBA games)) and they are scheduled to stop getting shipment from Nintendo for GBA games in May because Nintendo is gunna stop making GBA games and switch to only DS for handheld. So that means it will soon be dead.

hmm i work part time @ a game shop and i havent heard anything also why would have ninti relesed the GB micro if that was the case? i rest my case

... yep, I double-checked .. this is still the GP2X board ;)

To squeeze as much money out of GBA as possible.

Yeah thinkk of it like the ps1/ps2 migration. They didnt just stop making ps1 games altogether, they didn't even stop developing the ps1 hardware, but they only stop making games once they're satisfied enough people have swapped over.
Microsoft are still making xbox titles at the moment but once enough people own a 360 they'll just cut off development altogether

That's so so so made up. Square enix are porting FF5 and 6 to Gameboy advance in the near future, so support won't be dropped in may.

I'm sure they're going to stop making new games, and I'm sure some stores are not interested in stocking them anymore, but I don't believe they're going to discontinue producing the games altogether, I'm sure you'll be able to buy a new copy of one of the thousands of back catalog games for years to come.

didnt a dreamcast game recently come out? cool herders?
Yes, but it was a buffed-up version of a homebrew game released a few years ago. Not the sort of thing that you're going to be booking advertising space in Picadilly Circus for.

Surely talk about whether or not GBA roms is theft should belong in the off-topic area?

Cuncurr'd ... thus my 'smart-arse' reply :)

Ya that is probably right...

it's funny that nintendo would discontinue the GBA so quickly... it hasn't shown up here in Brazil yet (the SP has though, and in stores it costs us as much as an XBox360 on play-asia.com) >_<

Slightly OT but, is the DC->TV connector cable the same as the GP2X's? From the photos it looks similar and if it is, it will make me feel silly having bought the GP2X's cable when it arrives. :p

Nah. The GP2x uses a very different connector. It's the same as one used in mobile phones. The DC AV cable is very much proprietory.
