What I was wondering was would it be posible to
mod the GP32 with audio and video out?
We would be able to connect it to a tv to playgames on
a big screen. And also play mp3s trought a HiFi.

Anyone know enught about the hardware to be able to
answer this? I would be happy modding it myself if I knew it was posible and had instructions. But finacialy I'm not in a position to have loads of faild attempts.

very easy. just put a video camera pointing to your gp32 screen and connect it to your tv.

The audio is pretty easy just use standard 3.5mm headphone jack to composite (av cables) and then just plug those straight into your hi fi. Video wise well no1 has tried this 1 method a guy told me maybe some1 will soon :D . Anyway this is the message from the guy who has suposedly had it working

Yes, i had it working but no longer use it because the quality is hopeless on a large screen.

Ask the person if he used the right voltage - tell him to stick either a capicitor or a resistor between the connectors. The voltage might be too high or too low, or too varies.

Im leaving to russia tommorow, so i will not be able to answer more questions.

leaving 2 russia ehhh?????

the earlier message i got from him when he was telling me which cable actually had the tv out signal he made it 2 be

might be pin 8... Because it was closer around the middle of the plug.

mainly because in the ext pin out guides a few of the pins dont have their functions listed. So according to him you need a ext connector and you just use the grnd pin + just touch each pin with a av cable with the right resistor and capacitor on it :S

If you look here http://darkfader.net/gp32/files/ioport(gp32)-en.pdf
you will see that pin 2 + pin 8 dont have any listed function so if it was 2 be any of these it would be that one. Suposedly the need for resistors and capacitors is that the flow of current from the batteries as we know is very unstable. Sometimes too high sometimes too low. This could all be a load of rubbish dreamed up by tim the crazy person who left 4 russia !

Yes, that would work. But having to drag round my £600 dvd camcorder just so I could get it on the tv at a friends house would be silly. Besides I want to get into the guts and mess about. I think It would be fun to do. If it's possible.

Edit: Duahhh. Yeah I forgot about the headphone socket for the audio.

pin 42 on the ext connector give you a plain vanilla video signal. You know, of course the gp32's cpu is from samsung and made for pdas and such, so it first outputs a lousy analog video signal. This is then fed into an analog->digital converter which then feeds the lcd. this is done since pdas and such have so much space to spare that the few extra chips really dont matter. this analog video is then also available on pin 42, since they thought of course in advance about people who want to play gp32 games on the tv. you just need to amplify the signal with say some 12 volts and you could feed it into any tv to watch your favourite gp32 game on the big screen.

well erm has any1 got the connectors / time 2 test this 2 death there must be a way it seems even if we have 2 boost by 12 volts *cries*

Well i was looking for a broken gp32 for real cheap for what i was gonna do was make a gp32 PROJECTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

 no im not crazy

Let me explain what i would be doing.

What you do is have 2 pieces of glass with it all blacked out so only a small square is showable.

The LCD screen for the gp32 lays on this where the square is and you have a light source behind the glass (the 2 pieces of glass are to stop the top glass being to hot that it can wreck the gp32 screen).

then we have a projector lens infront of the LCD which projects the image onto the wall.

its pretty simple its the way people make video projectors just use a LCD screen and a lens +light to show it on the wall.

Other simple method would be to get a overhead projector and have the LCD and the guts laying on the screen.

You will now see it on the wall :D

What i had inmind was making my own projector box and hooking the snes pad up to it (this is very simple actually) and then u have a BIG gp32 screen :D

Be cool if it was being used at the british meetup ;)

but yeah im not crazy just think to much ^_^ but this will work and its very simple :)
