i spent a while yesterday trying to get the snes emulator to work, and i finally did, but for some reason i have no sound for the games. i heard the colume is universal so i checked the volume by listening to some mp3's and playing genesis games, i had sound in both of those. i got my gp2x for Christmas yesterday, and am new to the scene, but have been reading on them alot the last month or so. i heard that if you turn the sound off on it, it can crash, is there something i missed? thanks for your help. :)

thanks i will try it it see if that works. i will feel stupid if i missed something so simple lol :)

I've heard it's not so crashy when you load it with sound, but what's the speed like? If the choice is between playable but crashy and slow but stable, I might have to stick with playing Genesis games with DrMD.

thanks that worked :) i love the genesis emultor, i wished the snes one worked that well and i would be even more pumped up about having this, than i already am.

A lot of roms that hang on the title screen are due to the sound not being emulated [with the new core]. A lot of konami games do this. Its not a problem with the cpu core, rather just the way the game was coded.

Speed is slow with sound, About 5FPS.

That is terrible. Even the GP32 gives about 20 FPS with sound at 166 MHz

isn't there a way to have mp3 play in the bg? Or was I just dreaming I read that, and I checked read-me and didn't see it.. though it probably might be there lol

The sounds core is probably still very un-optimized, Comparitively Cybernator rums almost perfectly without sound on the 2X.

Geez I can't believe I missed that whole thing about starting games with the A button for sound. but I'm also glad I discovered I could play it without untill the sound is fixed or someone builds a better emulator.
