I'm impressed by DrMDX, but something, aesthetic as it is, bothers me. The main menu kind of flashes a little, a lot actually. It seems related to the scrolling background, but I couldn't find anything regarding it. I've tried both 4.2 and 4.3 and the background still glitches. Has anyone else had this problem?

It's not a 'problem'.

Its a problem but did not really deserve a new thread :)

I stand corrected then ;)

From the first ReadMe:

- Menu flickers REALLY BADLY. For some reason my vsync code only works on the
latest firmware ( currently version 1.0.1 ). I only have to use Vsync on
the menu's at the moment so the graphics while running a game should be fine.
I may have solution for this but it will have to wait until the next release.

Wasn't aware this was a "new" thread. DrMDx and Menu came up with zip in the searches. Sorry.

Come on people read the readme :(

I will be trying to resolve the menu problem by quad buffering the menu screen, this *may* work but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Quad buffering the menu is a little bit more tricky as the menu is 16bit which means I'm going to have to allocate another 2 frame buffers and get the caching setup correctly. Which is something I don't have to worry about at the moment as Linux allocates the first two framebuffers.

I'll give it a try and see if it works or not and let you know

I think, because reesy created such a powerful emulator people start to think about strange details such as the menu screen (which I like a lot) and the alignement of the different settings (whether sound on/off should be above "show fps" or not) etc. In my opinion the emu is already perfect. With the clock speed changer you can run almost every game at full speed with the best sound quality. What do you want more guys?

Chaos Engineer hit it right on the head. Sorry I didn't look at the changelog, I usually browse right past 'em. I read the readme, just like I said, missed the changelog. Again, sorry. The power of this emulator shows that you care about this, and I was just worried maybe something was wrong with my 2X.

Have you tried the CPU/LCD tweaker??

I have firmware 1.0.1 installed and I never noticed a problem, I never even tried the tweaker because of that.

The tweaker needs firmware 1.0.1 to work though.

No it doesn`t, there is a 1.0.0 version.

And it does not help improve the flickering.

Also, a uses the 1.0.1 version would be pretty pointless since the flickering just appears in 1.0.0 gp2x... like you can read above ;)
