which types, brands, chargers? Whats the highest mAh right now?

any one know of a good online place in U.S,? what do u think about voltage?

All NiMH batteries are gonna range from about 1.4V fully charged, down to about 1.2V for the major portion of the usage cycle - below about 1.2V, the voltage starts to drop off rapidly.

But don't be scared by the fact that NiMH's are only 1.2V where an alkaline is 1.5V - the alkaline can't provide as much current, and likely drops down a bit in voltage during actual use in the GP2X (and as the battery discharges, it gets progressively worse such that you'll probably only get a couple hours of useful time out of an alkaline, even though the battery still has a lot of charge left afterwards). Alkalines might work OK for low current uses of the GP2X, like using the mp3 player with the screen off.

Yes i was wondering also, while I wait for my gp2x to come, (which strangely I got a confirmation today, i ordered the 8th of this month lol) I want to buy some stuff, including rechargable batteries. I want to get the best deal for a charger, and people say 2500mAH is what I should go for. I found a charger w/ an 8 pack of 2300mAH AA's for $22, is this a good deal? It sounds like it to me, but if the gp2x will slack with these I'll find something else

Im currently using 1700ma ones.. And they last about 2hours heh. So those would be arond 4-4 1/2 or so, 2500 are suppose to get 5.
