Would You Trust This Ebay Seller?

Yeah thats a common way of conning people. You see 'oh wow £1 each!' and go to buy when you notice... '£20 postage? But thats more then the new price!'

Also for 'imports' something to watch out for is Chinese (counterfeit) imports.

I hate those crappy chinese sellers... You'd think that ebay would revamp the search function so that "lowest price" included P+P

I would tend to say anything and everything that I have gotten from Hong Kong has been bootlegged. Once I got Advanced Wars 2 for GBA and the cart was bootlegged. It was so funny! when I turned the game on it would come up with the screen of the people that made the rom! It even came with a box that they printed that was really crappy. The game worked... but it didn't work in multiplayer mode.

My worst experience with Hong Kong copies was when I bought one from a regular high street shop thinking it was the real deal (Pokemon Gold..), got it home and found the manual to be just the manual from Pokemon red and the actual game was Pokemon gold but it was the half finished fan made English translation from the internet!

I do have a nice HK copy cart for my gb though, it has 8 games in one. You change them by pressing a yellow button sticking out of the cart itself.

alas no. Rumour is that fake UMDS are beggining to flood the market over tehre, starting at 3 quid a pop.

just thinking about it, it is easilly possible to make a fake umd isnts it... all you need is a mini CD / mini Disc disc and a UMD case, print a lable onto the disc and bang it into the umd case and get a UMD Box and print a cover off...

Got a HK Silver version of GT4 for the PS2, was a VERY good identical copy, even down to the PS hologram on the back of box!!! plus the game is an identical press so works on unmodded PS2's!!!

alas, not that simple. UMDS are 1.8gb, whereas minidiscs are 140mb, and mini cds are about 280 i think.

Actually, mini-disc's have reached 1gig, but UMD piracy is still unlikely, as it would be too costly to mass produce UMD, let alone too costly to make a UMD burner. There's my 2 cents. :D Whadaya think peeps? :D

No, no, no, no and no.
Umds read completely differently to minidics, you can't put a minidisc in a case and it will work.
Umds won't cost a lot to produce, it's only a similar technology to minidisc.
