Can Someone With Gp2x Please Test A Video For Me?

No mpeg1 support, just divx and xvid, maybe wmv (early versions). .mpg and .mp4 files don't even appear in the file selector for the movie player, and you can't fool the selector into playing by changing the extension to .avi (mplayer just has a fit a chucks up a load of errors). Any particular reason why you don't want to use divx or xvid?

Wait, it reads Ogg, doesn't it? Meaning OGM will work? I could very well be wrong on this, and please correct me if it is so...

I don't like them :p

Well I find it easier to use mpeg-4 and h.264 on my mac becuase of the great program Handbrake that lets me convert my dvd movies into, you guessed it mpeg-4 and h.264! Plus I have quicktime pro which does some really great and easy encoding in those 2 formates.

FFmpeg spazes out on my all the time, and randomly works. It used to work but now it won't do anything.

Plus the gp2x is supposed to play mpeg-4 files, I have read that everywere. Hell it is even on this site http://www.gp32x.de/gp2x.php

divx and xvid are mpeg4 though aren't they? and mp4 is just a container type like .avi, matroska etc? (don't know much about video so I could be completely wrong here). If that's right then mp4 isn't mpeg4, it's just something that contains an mpeg4 file. Which would mean that the gp2x can play mpeg4 files like it states on gp2x.com, it just can't play them in container formats other than .avi.

Simple: Archive.org doesn't. I use XviD all the time but I also like to just download movies and play them. Oh well, will take a little time then. :)
