Gp2x Colour

Actually, what ever happened to that guy who was looking into custom molds for GP32 cases? I'd love a smoke or other tinted clear case color for my GP2X ...

(heh, smoke  )

So, getting back to the original thread, i take it the general feel is that it's a black unit on release then.

sorry to be boring but there was a reason i asked as i just convinced my m8 to order one and then he said, "it had better be black", then i started to doubt myself.

cheers.

... see that banner ad up there^ ?

That's the color of the unit. Black, and not the shiny, glare-fest that the PSP uses ... it's a semi-flat plastic. with dark grey (almost black) buttons and stick.

Yeah they are going to be black.
But white ones should be coming out.

Not wishing to go to far off topic or start a flame war.

You never know you may get custom faceplates a la PSP, like mine for example.

And that is the first and last time I mention my PSP, after all this a GP32/GP2X forum. :D

is that a skin or case?

and what's this about someone going to make custom molds with different colors! smoke would be too cool! :D

Okay okay, back on topic now:

"Well I'm a mushroom-cloud-layin' motherfucker, motherfucker! Every time my fingers touch brain I'm SUPERFLY T.N.T, I'm the GUNS OF THE NAVARONE. In fact, what the fuck am I doin' in the back? You're the motherfucker should be on brain detail. " B)

Not long after the GP32 came out there were a bunch of people who just plain painted their systems. There were two or three threads about painting projects with pics, and most of them came out pretty good. I just did a quick search and found two old threads, but none of the links to pics still work.

If you really need a colorful GP2X, you can start here: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=2916&hl= . As I remember, some people were able to get professional looking paint jobs that didn't peel or flake off.

yeah, i was thinking about this as well, but i have bad experiences with paint chipping off with a controller i painted a while back. i figure a handheld will get as much use and abuse so paint chipping is inevitable...probably no matter how well it's painted.

paint can't give you a clear black "smoke" shell, either ;P
