I'm 99.999% sure Ikaruga came out for the Dreamcast aswell as the Gamecube. If you cannot find it in any game store, then may I suggest you check on eBay for it, however PayPal will most likely be needed, even if it's shit.

The best vertical shooters playable on the GP32 are probably all on the PC-Engine.

I really like Super Star Soldier and Soldier Blade. But there are many others, the PCE really has lots of shooters.

On the NES, I recommend Dezaemon. It's a vertical shooter construction kit with a nice game built-in as well!

Ikaruga is available for Dreamcast, Gamecube and in the arcade. It's a great game!

Oh, you meant vertical shooters that are playable on the GP32?
Ah, well.. I suppose that a game I used to play on an Amstrad CPC might be playable on the GP32, if ONLY I could remember the title!! It was like this vertical shooter where you controlled this man who was not unlike Rambo in style and dress sense, and it was all green, set in some jungle..

Personally, I've been playing Quiest's version of Every Extend a lot lately. It is part of his mini-game project. On most download sites it qualifies as a shooter, but not necessarily vertical, basically top down on a 2D plane. It is a lot of fun, but not really a convention vertical shooter.

cheers!

Vertical by Synkro.

It's still on my GP32.
There was gonna be a sequal, but since I haven't heard anything of it, I presume it was cancelled.

Ouch! As it is still on your SMC you must be lazy deleting stuff. There is/was a sequel (aka V2), the last time I worked on it was 6 months ago. it only runs a few enemy, bullets and stuff... Maybe I send it to you the last tech demo so you can see what it could have been (if I were not that busy/lazy) as you are the only one still having it on the SMC... as a little 'Thank You! And now play somethign real...' :)

Phoenix, Flying Shark, 1942 and Battle Squadron. Xenon II is pretty cool too.

Battle Squadron is very very hard, although it looks superb!
