It seems to me that the boards are getting clogged with the same questions being asked over and over again. For this reason I find that I am spending less and less time looking through the boards

Does anyone else find this

So what ARE the FAQs? If the collect them together then it should be easy to write an FAQ to answer them.

I think the problem is that there is no search function!
It is very hard to search all the threads manually to find some answers.

If i have a generall question and there are probably some thrads about this what should i do. browse ALL the postings??? So if i dont want to search hours or days for some answers i'm forced to ask the question. Also i know its answered before.

So i think a search function would be the best solution to solve this.

if there is already a search function, then
first: Sorry!!!!!
second: tell me were to find it pls.

grts, count

Search is hidden away in the drop down menu at the bottom right. The mod's said something about hiding it as its a drain on the system but it just leads to mass repetitive posting. Meaning the ppl who dont really need to search (the long time board users) know where it is and the newbies who need it most cant find it, pure genius <_<

ah. thx a lot.

i had some stupid questions too which i didnt wanted to ask. but now i searched the old posts for some hours with the (well hidden) search function and i found the answers!

I think if the search funtion would be easier to find (just another button besides new poll, new topic and add reply or near the "my controls" thingie above) there would be less repetive postings!!

dont u think so?

by the way. there is a ALL NEWBIES READ THIS. how to put the info how to search into a pinned poll for newbies like that?

grtz, count!

I'm beggining to find that 'general talk' is becoming more of an 'off topic discussion' than 'off topic discussion' area. Anyhoo all boards tend to go through these phases of newbie mass attacks, it soon wears off.

I dont mind people asking common questions, but there are too many posts in the general section. I find stuff like "help me blah blah" that should be in the help me section. Some posts about nothing like the posting roms one, just post in the off topic forum.
Post in the right section...
