yo - does anyone know how i can get my limewire/emule/edonkey working properly - it serches ok but downloads well slow - im using a betgear wi-fi router & on AOL - is there anyway i can change the settings to run better? - i have all firewall off but limewire still says im behind a firewall

my uni internet appears to suck. I have a two meg line split two ways, but you just plug your ethernet cable straight into the wall (no accessible modem or router) and I'm near certain I'm behind a router which is giving me a lowID. Still IRC d/ls at ~100kbps so thats nice.

you wanna count yourself lucky p2p works at all

in my first year the only thing available was an internal dc++ network, and that kept being shut down.

was hilarious seeing people collecting burnt cds of the latest 24 etc from the postal reception.

edonkey & emule only download at a maximum of 1KB/S for me - what can i do to make it faster? - limewire downloads at 210KB/S so i know my connection is ok but then again limewire is best for small files????

University of k.e.n.t (this filter really fucks me off - it filtered "k e n t" to "moron" and made me look like a fool) seems really against it. So I am setting up a swapping society, we can swap DVD's of stuff right under their noses that way...

You need to setup portforwarding for Emule. There was a link earlier on.

look, its done it again!

Why does emule need portforwarding but limewire or bearshare doesn't?
