Im considering buying a gp2x but had a few questions about the emulation.

Will the gp2x use the same emulators that the gp32 used, or will it require brand new ones? If so when will these emulators be launched? Also, since the gp2x is 200mghz(i think i read that correctly in the faq) will it be able to play snes at full speed?

The architecture of the GP2X is different, so I don't think you'll be able to directly use your GP32 emulators.

There will be emulators at launch, but I'm not sure which ones will be available.

As for the SNES at full speed, I'm pretty sure it will be able to but there are several who don't think it'll possible.

There are no 100% answers on these, as the GP2X hasn't been released yet :p

Regards,
fritz

Just to point it out: GP2X have 2 200MHz CPUs and one of them have 2D acceleration.

i think the faq needs to be edited to Resize the 'dual' word, so that everyone stop talking about a 200mhz cpu, wich is a big mistake.

... A bit like that: DUAL

But who knows? maybe some people still won't get it after that.

As any site messageboard with a FAQ can tell you, there will always be some percentage of people who will ignore FAQ's even if you put the link in huge letters with neon animated naked women dancing around it.

Then again... I don't think the neon animated naked women thing has actually been tried yet. Hmm...

If you read the FAQ carefully, you'll see towar dthe bottom:

CPU/Memory/Graphics Overview: see the specs link above for details. But basically the GP2X has dual (2) ARM CPU's, each clocked at 200Mhz,

and also in the specifications:

Product Name: GP2X-F100

General
CPU: Dual cores, ARM940T @ 200Mhz + ARM920T @ 200Mhz

I put both the word "dual" and the number "2" there for a reason. It means there are TWO CPU's. ;)

And if you read the FAQ, you will also see this right there in the beginning:

Release Date: 2005, Late October - Early November. There is no exact day/time.

Which part of the FAQ did you actually read? ;)

I prefer white chocolate, but i think that really isn't chocolate at all...

OK, now I'm worried. Overclocking, and possible overhesting, could seriously mess my GP2X up... :(
