And that is really part of the basis for this post as well, because I do have to consider that there is the possibility that the PSP might not always be feasible for playing emulators on. It's been sorta 'good' luck that for now, nothing really good has come out, and even if something did come right now, there are ways around updating.

Well, it's fine for some of us. I especially LOVE the video-out option, because it means that I'll be able to take it with me when I travel and connect it to a tv (instead of bringing along an entire DVD player).mr.mirko posted on Sep 20 2005 at 11:04 AM said:The gp2x is a cool device for all devvers out there. For homebrew and music playback. I do not say video playback, couse the display is too small.
No, around 95% of GP32s can overclock to some extent (you can search the forum - there have been several polls done on this subject). Maybe half or a little less can overclock to 166Mhz (if I remember correctly).Cyclops posted on Sep 20 2005 at 07:06 PM said:Are you sure, are you sure your sure. I suspect most people's are running at 133.
Have you already forgotten that video of the GP2X GBC emulator that was compiled in like 30 minutes? It seems pretty obvious to me that there will be a lot of emulators right off the bat (or at least the ones that require less processor speed).DaveC posted on Sep 22 2005 at 02:06 AM said:Yes in the first months you will likely see alot of first attempts that will likely be things like choppy Gameboy emus with no sound and lots of bugs.
Are you serious? So they've suceeded in finding out some method of making GP32 programs compatible with the GP2X? The last I heard, GPH was "working on it", but I haven't heard any news since then...

You guys are placing too much stock in my memory of a poll I saw months ago. Anyway, I was quite wrong... look here. 94% of GP32 BLUs can overclock to 166Mhz or higher.Alpha2 posted on Sep 22 2005 at 07:00 AM said:Its kinda odd though, most of the time when someone talkes about the strength of their GP32 they always refer to being ableto over clock, most people who seem to talk about overclocking seen to mention their system at 166 (I mean I personally know I'd be sad and depressed if mine couldnt hit that mark) and there are even people who can go higher (frankly I care little for this speeds as I'm just glad to be able to hit 166).
So now I'm being made to assume that the 166ers are simply a vocal minority and that around us are thosands of people cursing us out because they can only hit 148 or possibly never even get out of the park with 133. Kinda sad, I guess we take it for granted.
I am the only one interested if any of this is useful. Sounds like fun to had somewhere.Zoom In/Out,Rotate,Scaler,H/W Cursor,Alpha Blending
I'm not sure what Mirko means by that, but the gp2x doesn't run gp32 software. I don't think GPH are even allowed to officially work on it as they don't own the rights to the gp32. Someone may attempt a solution at some point, but I don't think it will be GPH.Esn posted on Sep 22 2005 at 07:23 AM said:mr.mirko said:All gp32 stuff will run on the gp2x.

I don't see a problem really. Unless the GP2X running linux is a porting complication for that.
