High Rez Pictures!!

Nice find, I doubt these pictures do the GP2X full justice, my camera phone takes better quality pictures

Anyway I like the laminate finish on the white unit, looks much more sleek, the blue version just looks a little rough... Eitherway will be interesting to see what type of plastic/finish they use on the final black units.

EDIT : Forgot to say the screen looks MASSIVE, much bigger than I previously realised! I just hope the scaling software makes use of it efficiently and there are options to switch playback ratios.

actually, i got the link from a comment left by someone in the slashdot article :)

why does no one turn these things on? And man doe that screen look huge! I thought it was as big as the gp32s? (I never owned one) but I though 3.5in was not that big, I mean the ds screen is 3in right? Or is is smaller? 2.8 maybe?

I just want to see one turned on!

Half an inch makes a much bigger difference than you might imagine. My GP32's screen seems HUGE compared to my DS screens.

And yes, the GP2X screen is exactly the same size as GP32 - 3.5". It's a very nice size, and it never makes you think to yourself "wish this screen was bigger" as you might sometimes do on GBA or DS (I sure do).

I think they've done a great job on the design. It looks way better then a DS and maybe even slighly better then a PSP. And I may actually prefer the white one over the black one but I haven't see so many shots of the black one. The blue one is definatly boring.

I wonder if that is Anna Hong (from the GPX2 site).

The girl that types all the responses on the forum?
It's very cool GPH actually takes time to read people's opinion and response, and change specs if asked for that much.

I used to download songs from this guy's directory awhie back after a chance discovery through google, I think after he locked it he decided that he'd only give the password to people who either donated to the upkeep of the site or people who were worthy posters in his forum.

I wonder if these were taken the same time Craig was at GPH?

So are the "black" ones actually blue?

Arrgh! I hope not. And if they are the supposed "black" units then I think http://www.gbax.com/ would be liable for incorrect advertising as all of the images on their site either show the white or black units. see http://www.gbax.com/viewgp2x.html

Im not sure if Id return if it I received a blue one from the first batch but I certainly wouldnt be too pleased. Its definatly something that needs clarifying before they start shipping anyway.

The blue one seems to be the first prototype. The black one is the latest version since it's the only one with the GP2X logo, the white one still have the old GPX2 logo. I do prefer it with a red X though. Black and green give me some Xbox vibes as well, uggh.
