What Do You Want In The Gp3x?

I agree with you timthepig, I don't see the gpx2 really being that much of an advancement over the gp32. (lets hope I am wrong), I really wanted wifi, for email, surfing the web, and possibly chatting (need some sort of keyboard).

But I don't have a gp32 and have always wanted one so this thing is perfect.

1) Maybe a low power X86 chip with some decent speedstep powersaving
2) higher resolution screen
3) *standard laptop memory*
4) runs without battery when using USB
5) standard card slot for *laptop* addons maybe 2X for wifi tv out etc
6) dial volume up/down
7) Linux so converting not painful
8) look right rotated 90degrees
9) DRM free

wow, we don't even have our gp2x's and don't even know how well they will run things (although there is speculation) and we're already talking about gp3x? I think that the gp2x is a big improvement over the gp32 (at least my nlu 156mhz :) ) and that we should at least wait until that's released before talking about the next system.

A naked lady. A nice oriental naked lady. With a chip.

Touchscreen. Naked, yes.

Did I say naked?

I want ninjas, ninjas with guitars wailing like crazy, and a lot of babes.
So, there is a big fat man, rich also, that has many girls around him, they're slaves and then a guitar sounds and then a ninja appears surrounded by smoke.
The fat man summons a humongous bunch of henchmen and the ninja start to kill them, first of all kicks one in the nuts and the bad guy explodes, then kicks two of em and they explodes too.
But in the end, the big fat man (and rich also) gets up and attacks the ninja, then the ninja start wailing the guitar in a cliff so hard that the big (rich) and fat man explodes, the biggest explosion ever seen in this side of the universe, while the guitar sounds like crazy.
And then a Gp3X appears from nowhere and explodes, and then the guitar explodes and then ninja too, and then your computer explodes and you forget that post, that explodes also.

too unoriginal ^^ :p

anyway, everyone agrees on a 640*480 display along with more ram and cpu power. a handheld like that would be soo nice.

Lets just say we want the gp2x and MORE, yeap everything to the next level and maybe another level. I am thinking 4 600mhz proccessor, that would make me happy with 1280x720 screen and 256mb of ram, with a 200mhz 3d card, surround sound, wifi, touch screen, can magicaly shrink down to the size of a dime, 8gb internal flash drive, and of course the screen has to have billions of colors. B)

1.) 6-billion Gigamegaflap Co-processor Intel Westchester Extreme to the MAX CPU with SSE9 and 4DNOW!. Oh, and I want like 5 of those too.

2.) Holographic screen that like shoots onto my wall bc like small screens are stupid.

3.) 38 buttons, but like they're all hidden so they don't get in the way unless you want them to bc they're cool like that

4.) There is no number four.

5.) Every game ever made, all available on one tiny chip the size of a grain of rice that I eat and then I can play the games in my mind, but still on the GP3X since it has to have telepathy, too. Cuz like what loser system doesn't have telepathy??

6.) A button that makes developers make cool games since they don't know how to yet.

7.) If I get a high score in galaga, the GP3X has to like build me a space ship and fly me to outer space so that I can prove my skills in the sky and become the Moon Master.

Worst. Thread. Ever.

Kiss. My. Ass.

This is silly. But I agree - a 640*480 4" screen would be worth including.
Extra processor speed and 3D (openGL) support would also be nice to add.

But seriously, this isn't gonna happen for another 5-7 years.

What, no DaveC to say all the suggestions are shit for emulation? ;)

Because thay are not all shit for emulation. A few may be but I don't care. I am more interested in what the GP2X will be doing in the near future.

For OrR's info yes 480 x 320 is a shit resolution for emulation because it doesn't fit well making lousy stretching mandatory.

I have this explanation below. And yes as long as we are dreaming a 640 x 480 screen would be the best option. 640x480>320x240>480x320 for emulation, older PC ports.

@davec: Thanks for that explanation. I knew what you were saying before but now its even more clear to me. Thanks.

heh :D
realistically, the gp2x successor should have one of those >1ghz ARM processors. is it really 5 years away??

GP3X should have:

-1024 x 764 touchscreen
-5 GHZ Intel Celeron processor
-1 GB or > RAM
-3D Accelerator
-Surround sound speaker system
-Fold-out keyboard and mouse
-GPS
-WiFi (must be accesible everywhere in the world)

If possible (I wouldn't mind spending a buck or two more for these):

-Infrared keyboard
-Possible pre-4D support
-Morphable shell to make the system any shape you want
-Option to cook you meals
-UNIVAC and ENIAC emulators

For a new GP3x I would like:

1. Floppy ears on the side so it resembles a dog. Then I can say "come here boy"
when I want to play a game of Halo 2 and he'll a come a runnin right into my arms. Nice GP3x.

2. An extra button that will extend an arm that will scratch my back. I want to
get a high score and an itchy back could get in my way of being the best of the
best.

3. A wi-fi way to summon ghosts so I can talk to all those who have gone before
me for advice on how to find the silver boomerang and the last kokuro seed.

4. A straw peripheral with liquid-in capability at full 64oz resolution so I can
game and drink a glass of prune juice when I want to without the muss or fuss.
Gotta keep the kidneys and my bowels healthy.

5. A vibrating function so when I have it in my pocket all those around me will be really jealous of the enormous smile on my face. Take that you non-gamers.

Actually, N64 along with PSP and PS2 emulation with a 3.5" screen with VGA resolution. A flip type design similar to the GBA SP would be great too along with a voice recorder and definitely a keyboard attachment for easy note taking.
Wafer thin would be good too.
Ah we can dream for a few years. Joe.

OMars, sorry. I meant no disrespect just having fun with the post.
I do hope they make the next version similar to how the GBA SP is though. I really like that design and if they made it thinner it would be even better.
Joe.

Oh, one more thing.
At least two usb 2.0 ports so when you use the TV-out function you can also play two player games by way of two plug n' play usb game controllers. :)
Joe.

Why are you all mocking me? God, just get off your periods!
That comment is incredibly offensive if you ask me. We're kidding around because this is the dumbest topic ever. The GP2X isn't even out yet. No one knows what kind of technology will be viable down the line if a GP3X or the like ever comes out.

You really need to think before you type, OMars. I, for one, am getting sick at lots of the things you say and your overall lack of maturity.
