MagicEyes, who make the CPU, did not reply when I asked for an account to get datasheet. They just spammed me. :(

GPHoldings did not reply to the questions on their forum about CPU datasheets/development info. :( I can't find an SDK anywhere or a developer support e-mail address. :(

I'm a little disappointed. The GP32 was great mostly due to the availability of the Samsung datasheet. But then I am mostly interested in hardware! The API was OK, but I wouldn't want to just live with that... I guess I should stop complaining and wait for it to come out. I was wanted to read up on the SoC so I could get ready to port the atari800 emu. But then if the SDL one runs out the box I guess it might not be worthwhile!

A lot of people are struggling to get anything out of MagicEyes. I think you have to buy a dev board from them to be able to get anything of interest. As for GPH, they haven't released the SDK yet because they haven't finished it, but there's a note on their site saying it should be available next week. Don't know what other info they may or may not be releasing though. Have patience, you can't be given something until it exists ;)

Maybe ask Craig of GBAX what is going on. He went to GPH and saw the unit etc. Maybe he could wrangle some info from them or at least let them know there is a big problem with getting the info.

I love your Atari 800 emu by the way it ROCKS on my BLU :)

Hopefully there'll be something released next week. Their site just says info, so not necessarily the SDK just yet, but we'll see.

I'm keen to get working on porting Frodo and Vice to the Gp2x.

Cool guys :) Frodo and Atari 800 were two emus that I was afraid may not make it to the GP2X. I love those on my GP32 BLU.

Good luck I hope this can be sorted. I hope those guys that did other SDK stuff for the GP32 will do it on this too.

Yeah you're right I should have patience. Even without the SoC docs quite a bit will be figured out from the SDK. Sure some people will relish the challenge!

I really hope GPH have an agreement that allows them to distribute SoC docs though. FIngers crossed!

Two weeks later and we continue waiting...

Craig has said that GPH are behind schedule. Just hope that this doesn't mean that the November shipping date turns into December  I'm sure Craig will sort things out though, even if it does mean flying over there to give them a good whipping :)

there is a datasheet avaible from magiceyes website at i just dont know it is that you are looking for.

The datasheet just gives a very high level overview. Not how to actually do something. I meant something more like this:
http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/jikorhon/conde...2400x_rev10.pdf
(This one is for the GP32)

Thanks,

Mark

I was looking through the customer suggestion page and found this from 12 sep by the admin:

"releasing sdk will take a few more weeks.
Concerning developing emulators, some briliant developers are making them."

I would love to get my hands on an emulator and se what programming for GP2X is all about.

Well looks like there is info now:) I just hope no-one at GPH gets in too much crap over accidentally releasing them. Well it does _look_ like an accident at present.
