Hi there,

I'm a journalist writing a news piece on the GP32 (which is fantastic btw - loads of retro fun and games) but I can't get hold of MoviePark anymore. Could someone help me by emailing a copy or pointing me in the right direction? I have a shareware DIVX player, but it doesn't work very well. I would wait for MoviePark to be released again, but I have a deadline of next week!

Thanks for your help,

Jamie

hi m8, dont know if I buy the "im a journalist" bit. but Movieparks will not work if you hve it sent to you, trust me I tried. The program will run but it wont load any files! :(

I think there is still a demo version available that will play the demo movies (FF10) from entware, so that would suit you if your really writing a review.

Good luck

And I hope to see this review when done

happy retro gaming m8

You can go to www.gp32news.com and download the new pc link for it and just drag the mpark.fxe and the .gpm file to gpmm file on the smc and then u can do a review

but u cant encode your own movies so u have to use that as the review if thats what u really need it for.

It doesn't run because you need an encrypter.

Jamie,... I don't quite believe your a journalist. (I may be wrong) BUT I have been a journalist for a Gaming Mag and a local newspaper for just about 8 years. As a journalist, when writing an article, Everything is based on research and experimentation. Research is done first to flesh out the obvious on the beat. THEN experimentation is done (if needed) to finish off the detail work. If you did the research, you would have known that you can not SHARE any SMC files or GamePark files because of the ID protection. Therefore, if you knew this, Why ask if someone can give you a copy of MoviePark??

I sense a fibber amongst us.
Although it was a good try.

Next time give the name of the publication you work for and your supervising editor. Then maybe I would believe you.

Also the editor is usually the one setting up the beat for you. So they would have have most of the preliminary info avialable for you (most of the time, depending on the beat).

These are just my 2 cents. Good luck

Hey, I'm a journalist and even I know that... However, there isn't exactly any way to stop people calling themselves "journalists", is there? I mean, you have to be qualified to call yourself a doctor or professor. <_<

Anyway, if you'd been doing it properly, you wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. Maybe next time get your article ready in time

Excuse me, I am a freakin' journalist!

I work for PC Zone and am writing a report on the GP32 as it's going to be launched (hopefully) in the UK soon.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for their help,

Jamie Sefton,
Associate Editor,
PC Zone UK

I am glad I am not the only Journalist that knows what they are doing , and follows the procedure to complete a beat.
Thanks for the support Taras.

Jamie, I am not saying your NOT a journalist. It's just , AS A JOURNALIST, I must question everything...and give a total unbiased opinion. I try to anyway.

I actually do believe you, I leave everything until the last minute... I'm just a hypocrite :D

You can't get a copy of Moviepark, since it's securely encrypted for each individual GP32. If you want some screenshots of it though, I for one would be happy to help!

I would have thought Edge would get there first. Nice to see some other magazines picking it up.

Cheers - appreciate the help. This is my first time with a GP32 and found the whole installation/registration thing a complete pain the arse. But now I have working emus of the PC Engine etc, it's all been worthwhile!

Sod's law that I miss the MoviePark download by 2 days...

My apologizes....I thought I'd just give you a hard time. DID it work?

Anyway.....Good Luck on your review and article.

Hello Jamie,

If you want to see GP32 running movies then you can come and test mine if you fancy a trip to Coventry.

I have had my GP32 for about a month now and am just starting to play with the dev kit.

I converted one of my own DVD's and watched that on moviepark and it is brilliant.

I hadn't bothered ripping & coding video before and just wanted to play and see what it could do. It was pretty easy and the results are impressive.

I would probably buy a couple more SMC's next summer and take some films on Holiday with me.

Drop me a line if you want any help.

To the other posters in the forum - it would be a much more pleasant forum if we took the time to try and help rather take a negative stance toward newcomers.

Regards,
Vic20-Ian

I think the main reason people were a bit negative is because he was asking for warez, and it kind of sounded like he was pretending to be a journalist just to make his request seem a little more legit.
